999...is that like our 911?

yeah, in the uk, it's 999...which i never understood. i saw the '999' label on an old avengers episode...on a rotary phone. in an emergency, that would take sooooo looooong. why not make it 111?

hahaha, funny observation, but one fatal flaw: who uses those STUPID rotary phones anyway?? somebody that does DESERVES to have to wait the additional 3.1 seconds for help to arrive

i don't know anyone with a rotary phone now! i meant back in the 60's... they assigned '999' as the emergency phone numbers when EVERYONE used rotary phones. (i wonder how many people got as far as '99' before collapsing...things that make u go 'hmmmm')
