Well, I think it's cool, not weird. :) If it helps you feel better, mine is Keirsten, and no one ever pronounces or spells it right.
I had a friend in school named Keirsten and I always thought I'd name my daughter that.
Cool! Was it spelled the same way too? I've never met anyone who spells it the same way as I do....usually it "Kirsten." I can thank my parents for that. They added a letter to my brother's name too. Normally you'd spell his name "Aaron".....but my parents made it "Aarron." Very odd, they are.

Winifred sounds like Fred. Thats why most would assume its a guys name. Also sounds like names like Wilbur, Wilfredo, Willard etc...
