i hate eminem for pushing away triumphs face. i live and breathe triumph.. nothing is funnier then when he made fun of the star wars nerds.
I agree, but the Beatles were pretty good... anyway, I have a very low opinion of rap... it's so angry and non-productive. This kid that used to work where I work would listen to it all night and the only word I could make out through all the shouting was the "F" word... how is THAT entertainment. Okay, though, I DO like the radio edits of "Slim Shady" and "Stan"... MC Hammer was okay and Vanilla Ice was listenable... and I do like Will Smith...
vanilla ice?????
see what happens is that people have judged rap by the cover and the color of it's skin not the content of it's character. i have a dream that one day people will listen to the good sides of rap. like fabulous trade it all remix. so good. he's trading it all in for his womEn. and vanilla ice? listenable? whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
heh... I DO try to be very objective... eg. I like the Beatles, but I do acknowledge that they weren't the ground breaking band everyone thinks they were, they picked up on current musical trends and popularized them. FOR THE MOST PART, though, rap is awful. My view on ANY sort of enertainment is if it's ain't allowed in Bethel, I'm not going to be entertained by it. Rap, Alternative Rock, etc... BTW, I have started listening to a lot of Less Than Jake I've downloaded.. I like it, but I get out of breath listening to them after awhile (how's that for long-winded?)
i think rap is so great! the only reason they're not allowed to listen to it in bethel is because of what they say. if you just pick and choose the songs, your fine. or get a radio edit version. man i am such a little white girl who loves rap.
there's alot of stuff that's not allowed in bethel that's not necisarily bad. it's just that bethel can't afford to take chances, so they make rules. people have to use their own consciences to decide what they should listen to or not.
ahhahahah. this is the funniest, non-meant to be funny thing I've ever read. "Favorite rappers of all time: MC Hammer, Vanilla Ice and Will Smith" OMG.
unless you're joking, then I'm an idiot, but ninjas are sweet.
anyway, I think Deltrong 3030 is fantastic, and anything with Del is good. Heiroglyphics(spelling?), Gorillaz....
and Kool Keith, but he's a little weird sometimes, gotta be careful.
What about the Dub Pistols? It's not rap but they've got an AMAZING sound... oh yeah, and I've always loved Tribe Called Quest...."you on point, Tip?" "All the time, Phife."
Well, I don't think they are "my favorite rappers of all time" but at least I can hear their stuff without having to worry about hearing expletives, anger and other stuff that reflrcts a violent attitude... rap is not what I consider entertainment, no matter who the rapper is...
