I love that movie, i've seen it a thousand times. She was such a sweet girl and she didn't really mean it and he knew it. He just knew that it was her. But he also knew he had to do something about it or it would happen again. So even though it was her it was kind of his fault. So he just hatched a plan to overcome the situation so it didn't happen again....
