Hmm.. if i had the opportunity to go to school for 85% off, I would personally take it, because I just don't think that kind of opportunity would arise .. maybe EVER again. And while you may not actually NEED the education, it doesn't hurt to have an MBA, right? Especially since it's almost free, and since you can do most of the work during work hours, and set your own schedule...it doesn't sound like it would really interfere with your more important activities.

And since it is almost "free" then you could drop it at a later time, if you realize that it is taking up too much time, without really feeling guilty that you spent all this money on this course, right?

While I definitely agree that having a college degree is not necessary, yadda yadda, some people it seems feel almost ashamed to admit when they do have a higher degree, because there are people out there that would look down on it. As long as it's not interfering with your meetings and service - why should it be looked down upon?

If it was me, I would go for it, but that's just my opinion.

well there's 2 reasons, one is that it is going to take up some of my time and add some stress. the second is that younger ones in the hall might look at me and say its ok for matt, maybe i should go to college

yeah I can understand that. I also find it ironic that the people that were telling... no.. urging..and encouraging me NOT to go to college when I graduated high school, sent their kids to college a few years later. So really this topic is kind of a hot issue to me, hehe. It was kind of annoying when that happened. So now when it comes to college, I have the view that you should do what's best for yourself because YOU are the only one that is going to be 35, 45, 55 in this system if it continues, and YOU are the only one that is going to be living with your choices. You can't base your choices on what someone else did or is doing. But yeah it's a fact that the younger kids in the hall do look up to the older "kids" ... but really it's up to each individual to make this decision on their own. Like any other personal HUGE decision in life (marriage, dating, kids) it's annoying when people try to steer you one way or another just because THEY think that's what's right. When really YOU have to live with your decisions.

That's why I said I would go for it, but I'm not saying you should, because that might not be right for you. You have your head on straight, you'll figure it out. I'm sure you've been praying about it already, and you'll do the right thing.

like, i'm in NO WAY trying to tell you what to do, just expressing my reaction i guess, ya know?

I actually totally and completely believe that college is NOT necessary.

but if I had the chance to go for free, or for almost free, and if i had the time, yadda yadda, i would go for it
