its basically just a streaming video server, right? and you can get that feed from the TIVO if you have one, and control the TIVO remotely?

Exactly... That way they can watch whatever they want (Tivo or Live).. with no intervention from me... I can leave that TIvo for them to use in a closet somewhere... sounds doable? No?
