not if you don't have some sort of charging mechanism ... remember europe has different plugs ...
I'd also make sure you keep a close eye on it, it's a target for theives

All iPod chargers are universal 100-250v 50-60blah blah blah.. so all you really need is the plug changer (hard to find there, easy here) OR a car charger would suffice, YOU'll have a blast!

I read an interesting tip in Budget Travel recently: Instead of using tiny padlocks on your backpack or on luggage, connect your zippers with key rings. They're just as much of a pain to get off and aren't a flag to thieves.
