I swear, the women at my office all act like they're 13. Last year, two girls in my department went on vacay the same week. The first always goes the same week with her family; no biggie, I wouldn't ask anyone to change that. The second one just stays home with her kids. When I had to cover for both of them last year it was miserable and I made no qualms to the office manager or to the second girl that it couldn't happen again. I checked the vacation schedule today and lo and behold, they're on vacay for the same week again. I said something to the office manager and she said she'd talk to the second girl who's just staying home, and now that girl is being super mean to me. It's not unreasonable for me to say I don't want to cover for her without a good reason - I'm really getting sick of this office.

No, they're not friends like they'd want to spend their vacations together, if that's what you mean.

Yeah, I don't think that would've bothered me; I'm not trying to make anyone's vacation less enjoyable. I just don't understand why this second girl had to make plans for that week when she knew how unhappy I was about it last year. This is the girl I've had issues with before - she's a big gossiper and general pot-stirrer.

Something similar happened in my office and I'm not allowed to be out the same time as my one coworker since the rest of the office can't handle it or something. Now we have to alternate Christmas week.
You guys always go away that week, right? That really sucks. If my co-worker had a planned vacay, I wouldn't say anything. Is this the one that freaked out at you?
