I didn't get to read this yet but I had to read her Interpreter of Maladies (book of short stories) for my one class and I really enjoyed it.

see it mentioned on the book how she won a nobel prize for that book and i wanted to read it, but i wasnt sure whether or not it was short stories.

Yeah, it's a bunch of short stories but I really liked them all! I know you'll -love- "This Blessed House" if you read them.
