nicole atkins was amazing tonight. for some reason her voice made me wanna cry. it cut right through me. must be some kind of weird mood i'm in. anyway, lots of fun and she was really sweet to my sister and i. class act.
the rolling stone review of her EP a couple months ago said something like that, that it's hard to listen to her music without welling up
found the quote in Jane Magazine:
"you can't listen to Nicole Atkin's dreamy songs without getting all teary-eyed."
ah yeah jane mag, not rolling stone, although she was in rolling stone's "10 artists to watch" in May of 06
there's a quality to her voice... it's like a dead loved one appears next to you, grabs your hand, and stares into your eyes. and not in the creepy deemo way. it's pretty serious.
