Llanos. "Llano" is Spanish for "flat surface."

Maybe mother's side is Polish; father's side Spanish. If father's side were Polish too, making him 100% Polish, that would mean it would read more like "Llanoski." Unless, of course, it was only changed from "Llanoski" to "Llanos" for recording purposes at Ellis Island.
