what's the deal with posting your own? Do they automatically get copyrighted? How could any of us go about doing this?

the deal is u put up ur stuff, its copyrighted as ur own, but poetry.com is allowed to enter them in contests.. i've won a couple which is how i got published...

thanks :) actully, i just submitted that poem to be published in this literary magazine for my school.. so we'll see what happens, I have to wait till next week to find out if they choose it to be printed or not...
I was in charge of my school's literary magazine..that was fun.
So was I! Editor. That was a lot of fun. We would get hundreds of submissions, and it would be page after page of wannabe goth, my boyfriend/girlfriend dumped me and jesus loves me poems. It was so refreshing when we got something of substance. And we always did.
Although these topics certainly can inspire good poetry, it usually didn't.
I went to look for yours, and i found one of mine from highschool. Man that was a long time ago. How do you read these?
