I wrote this several years ago, and posted it on poetry.com. To my surprise, it was still there:

Let's Do Lunch

I saw you once or twice before
Or maybe not
For all I knew you were a bore
Or crass robot

But when I took a seat beside you
Yesterday
All my questions, doubts, about you
Went away

We didn't say a lot that day
A joke or two
But something in the way you say,
"I love life too,"

Makes me know that soon we'll be
Not just associates.
Let's get together sometime; we'll
Have fun I bet.
