She speaks the truth. The pizza we eat in this country is totally american. The only reason why you might find similar pizza over in Italy is because American tourists go over there expecting pizza...

If you're talking about something like Pizza Hut or Domino's or some crap like that then I agree with you, but I know that you can find really good, authentic pizza back East. I know of at least one New England chain whose pizza is absolutely _amazing_.

Their breadsticks are ok, but the only reasonably decent pizza they've ever made was the Priazzo and that's been gone for probably a decade now.
