Dude, like dan said, so easy.

Get a wifi router, plug your dsl into it, and then connect any computers with either a wire or a wireless pci card (or usb like dan said). DHCP does all the rest.

did you hear that...LIKE DAN SAID...wow you just got owned

why are you using DSL, anyway...i hope it's so save some $$ b/c cable is mad expensive!

yeah i guess to save money, we don't have regular cable tv so it would be even more expensive for us. i don't really even use my computer at home much anymore, but i figure once my parents get a new one it would be cool to have them networked so they can use the net.

is the router in that link ok? what are good network cards to get?

iwz iwz ·

that router looks fine. you could try looking for some reviews if you feel like it. I read through the manual real quick, and it will support your verizon dsl no problem.

as far as pci cards, i'd get a matching "enhanced" card from the same company, such as this one: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000068UY8/qid=1070382267/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1_etk-electronics/104-4549707-3036769?v=glance&s=electronics&n=172282

remember, you only need to get a wireless card for a computer that isn't close enough to use a wire. so, if you plan on leaving your computer in the same place, next to the dsl, you can just plug directly into it, no need for a wifi card there.

right, but I would need one for the other computer

my router is both wireless and you can plug into it, so its the BEST of both worlds! Netgear router man.. you cant go wrong
