here's a new one i made, hope you guys like. critique me if you want. i know i have more room for improvement.

“Empty Promises” (12-2-03)

They told us we could always trust them,
But they managed to get through with snares,
And tied the leash around our necks so tight,
When they tugged, it’d rip off our neck hairs.

I couldn’t do anything to stop their control.
Were we deceived with their honest lies?
They reminded us they were always sincere,
But they were deaf to our agonizing outcries.

Hear me out. This is the bottom line,
I’m not going to listen to you anymore,
And after all your empty promises,
I see you are just merely heartless from the core.

Don’t try to compromise something else,
Stop trying to bribe us with these fake pearls,
We see beneath your transparent surface now,
So put the pouch down before the truth unfurls.

Saving yourself is futility in full works,
Wasting your time trying to get us back,
It’s okay; we don’t want any more offers,
The circus already makes good money off your act.

You are nothing.
You are nothing but a promise of failure.
We’re watching you.
We’re watching you falling to your end.
