Well, eZabel 2.0 was fun while it lasted!
July 1st will usher in a new era.
eZabel 3.0. Once again, written from the ground up. Looking through this thread reminded me of all the work I put into 2.0. It really took me a long time to get things working the way they work now. And 2.0 was never really finished.
Here's to hoping that eZabel 3.0 will be bigger and better than eZabel 1.0 and 2.0 combined!

I see the inbox and the list of all my messages. The two new ones are even highlighted purple. When I click them..poof homepage!

haha, yeah, I guess TreeMaps don't sort case insensitive. haha. I only tested it with lower case user names.
If you don't specify a Comparator, it uses "natural order" (for anything that sorts. You could fix this by instantiating the TreeMap with the following Comparator:

also check if they are null in the comparator, and if they are both String objects.

ezabel mail is really a pain to use right now. All the names seem to be listed in Join Order. It was much easier when these names were in alphabetical order. Anyone else agree? Plus I can't delete any of my mail, so that kinda stinks, too.

i am still having new tag trouble. im sure it has to do with how my browser is set up bc, at home, the musings dont mark read and, at work, posts i made wont mark read.

i know tis weird. right now, in forums general chat and movies/tv both show new tags even though ive read and posted in them. im sure it has to do with my browser settings, although i am using firefox on both locations - at home we have windows me (? or something) and at work i have 98.
whenever you go to a page, hit F5. It renews the content. That's all that's wrong.

hmm, weird, I had a similiar sounding problem, but hitting F5 helps (the refresh button does the same deal, you can give that a shot)

The New tags stay on my forums even aftter i view whatever was new... do i have to actually click on each new comment or something? (I mean the new tags - on the forums but not on the individual threads)

In IE:
Go to the Tools menu and select Internet Options...
Then click the Delete Cookies... button
In Firefox:
Go to the Tools menu and select Clear Private Data...
Then check the Cookies box and click the Clear Private Data Now button

and my "hot links" idea...
what are those?
well, all of us have certain places to visit. Let's take today: I have been checking the news story about snowboarding that you wrote. I've been looking/commenting in the journal about Summer's dream, I've been checking out this threads, and when I get mail, I check that. Wouldn't it be nice to have a hot link to each of the "happening" areas of Ezabel that you are particularly interested in?
So my idea is to have a button at the top of each of the threads, journals, and news stories, which would add a direct link to the top of your page. This would be called Hot Links (which would reside at the top of your page--similar to the "latest Informative") could have up to 5 hot links of the stories, journals, and threads that you are most interested in (the hottest) keeping track of. This way you don't need to navigate through the Forums, or to the Home page to get to news stories--the hot links get you straight to where you are going.

did you decide to implement my idea about the new tags in the header for non-musing sections?
I would like to implement this, but I need to put more thought into it.
For example, when should it say new? When a new thread is posted? When new comments are posted? Both? When are are any unread threads or comments?
When should the new tag go away? When you read any thread? etc
etc

Got logout working, and did some work on Paging on the homepage and threads page. nice.
Fixed the weird reply bug that was putting comments in the wrong order.
Implemented User Journal pages.

okay, this is a test of the normal comments on EZ2. It worked under the news. I think this will work. The only weirdness I noticed with the news comment I made was...well, after I hit the "post" button, it didn't clear my type from the box, nor did it move up to my new comment. The comment was there, when I looked, but I almost wanted to hit "post" again.
Now I'm editing. The box only pops up when I'm editing. I think it should include your old comment, and then the edit box. This is also a test of the comment formatting.

I also noticed that the automatic spacing isn't working at ezabel 2.0
