Makes Scents

juicymango by juicymangoOG 2003 · Nov 23, 2004 · 214 views · ·

That is probably the most cliched phrase ever. Second only to "makes cents" haha..

everyone loves the smell of the ocean, and hates the smell of.. duck poop.. for example.

Howeva... what are some UNUSUAL scents that you love or hate?

I'll start.

I love the smell of fresh-cut grass. I love the smell of horses... the vicinity of a stable particularly.

I strongly dislike the smell of baby powder. I HATE the smell of CK1 and CKB or whatever other crappy CK perfume/cologne,... I dislike the scent of most colognes and perfumes actually.. they make me nauseus

now you go

(the cool thing about this is that scent is the strongest sense tied to memory, so a lot of times if someone mentions a scent you can smell it 'in your head' - so i'm looking forward to smelling stuff in my head all day from this thread haha)

whenever my dad tries to tell us that we smell he says he smell like the bottom of a fisherman's boot in newark (he gets to cuz he grew up there.)

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

How many fingers and toes does he have? Any tentacles? Superfluous nipples? Ask your mom.

malibu malibuOG 2001 ·

are you refering to my dad? or the fisherman that lives in newark?

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

Oh my. Stay with me here--YOUR DAD.

malibu malibuOG 2001 ·

why would he have all that weird stuff? because he's from newark where everyhting in contaminated? nuh uh.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

Heh, good for them. New england smells great. Especially the clam chowder.

SMELLS I LIKE:

The smell of summer (the season, people)
The smell of winter when the snow falls
The smell of autumn...when the leaves are changing and falling.

The smell of Coolwater for women
The smell of Polo Sport for women

The smell of clean blankets
The smell of wood burning- campfires, bonfires, wood stoves
The smell of fresh brewed coffee
The smell of earth
The smell of cedar (when faint--not strong like in a hamster cage)

SOME SMELLS I HATE:
Hard Boiled Eggs
Cucumbers
Celery
Heavily doused Perfume
(more, I'm sure, I just can't recall)

sunshyne sunshyneOG 2004 ·

as much as i love the summer season, i have to say the smell of autumn and winter surpasses it. when youve got a few neighborhood fireplaces going and the air smells so fresh so clean, it cant be beat. good call todd!

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

ilikebirds ilikebirdsOG 2002 ·

and the smell of my own fart... it's just not bad.
... however the smell of someones else fart.. ugh is so grosss...
ugh..

but your own flavor is always interesting to you.. and usually to you alone..

AMIRITE?
dont lie.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

it's true. but once in a blue i'll gross myself out.

ilikebirds ilikebirdsOG 2002 ·

watch what you eat. geez. to kill someone else with it, is ok. but to harm your own nose.. thats terrible

sunshyne sunshyneOG 2004 ·

i concur. i also usually like the scent of my sweat.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

ok. you need to get married. right away.

sunshyne sunshyneOG 2004 ·

i think you vastly misunderstand me. after a hard days work (for example cleaning the house or gardening or rbc since my secular work requires no physical exertion), there is a clean sweat scent. to me this is different than perspiration from the heat (which im not fond of). but i dont think either requires marriage.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

Hahahahaha! Hahaha! I know that I mean.

MANNNN, I'm cravin' one of those scuffins.

sunshyne sunshyneOG 2004 ·

scuffins are the best! i want to work at that bakery just to steal the recipe. they also have really yummy mini cheesecakes.

ilikebirds ilikebirdsOG 2002 ·
