Words of Wisdom

Throughout life, tons of people give you advice and how much of it do you really remember? I was talking about it last night and there are a couple of things that have really stuck with me.

1) One time my friend and I took a wrong turn and got lost in a place completely unknown to us. As I was about to freak out, she said "It's all right, we'll just turn around and follow the same route back to where we came from" It stopped me in my tracks and made me think-"That's right-how simple. what am i getting all nervous about" But I found that advice applies to anything-i've rememered it everytime i got lost but i also remember it to think that there isn't anything that can't be fairly simply undone if you just think it through logically.

2) My other favorite advice came from my friend Tom who told me if I'm ever alone &/or nervous someplace (with weird people), like the subway, just look down and bark at your shoes. If they think you are crazy, they will leave you alone. I have come very close to following this advice a number of times. I can't wait for the day when I really get to use it. I also passed this advice on to my mom who does not want to do grand jury duty.

3) The third piece of advice i would like to pass on is from my brother and I who have discovered the secret to dancing. Whenever you run out of dance moves, can't dance, or are just stuck in the 60's-remember this-the Hand Jive never fails. you can make it work to anything-try it.

So what is some good advice everyone else has been given?

Our CO recently gave a very good talk and in it he made the point that everyone is changing somewhat everyday.
It is a very slow very gradual thing that others around you don't even tend to notice because they are growing with you.
The point was that EVERY day we grow, so we need to be careful in what way we are growing and in what direction.

Your mind is like a parachute, won't work unless it's open.

Enjoy the Ride.

Toodles.

my advice is "if you give a mouse a cookie, he'll probably ask for a glass of milk".

This means that soy milk creates too much estrogen in your body. so now Mike has man-boobs. See the direct cause and effect?

Once and for all. L.B. -"There is no such thing as Soy milk. It's Soy juice. THey call it that only because no one would drink it if they called it that. I mean just saying it causes you to gag. We all no there is no soy milk because there is no soy (boobie)."

A circuit overseer once said to me, "when someone hands you an umbrella, take it. You never know when it might rain."

He explained to me that sometimes we get advice, or even counsel, that may not apply to our current situation. But we should accept it, because you never know when you can use it.

Here in SoCal you can easily get lost on our freeways because there are so many interchanges etc. One of my first experiences as a new drivier we were driving home from LA and i somehow got on the wrong freeway. I somewhat got a little freaked and woke my friend up cause i had no idea where we were going. My friend guided me back to the wonderful 101 fwy and we were on our way....but his advice: no matter where you're at always go south and you'll get home. This has saved me on MANY roadtrips! lol

Another important piece of advice my mom gave me: NO ONE can ever take away your happiness but you. no matter what anyone says or thinks of you, thats one person's perception....you're in charge, thats the freedom jehovah gave us, WE are the ones who choose! *thanks mom*
