So heres the problemo. I really want a living room set. Austin doesn't want to get one for a while.
(We have really nasty second hand sofas from our parents w/ slip covers on them) Do any of you have slip covers on your furniture? IT IS THE WORST. I'm pretty obsessed with things looking nice and clean & neat, and slipcovers do not help w/ this obsession. AS SOON as you sit on them, they get all bunched up & messy looking. Ugh, I hate it. Our house is almost done being built...(hopefully no more than 3 weeks)...it's a duplex, we're living in one half & renting out the other half. Anwyays,I hate the idea of putting ugly furniture in a nice, new house. So this is where eZabel comes in. Make donations to the "Duchaine Furniture Charity" and in exchange...be invited over to sit on our lovely furniture. What do you think? hahaha

lol this thread is getting funnier and funnier. So yeah.... i need some money and furniture too!!!! I could use some beanbag chairs another tv, maybe a laptop or 2. OR a house.... anybody hook me up?
i got a beanbag to donate, it has a small hole but could easily be fixed
ha ha,, Hey I can use some money for furniture too. I need 2 more bedroom sets. I could use a new office desk. I need a dining room set. Some comfy chairs for the foyer.(i duno how to spell that) I'd like new mantles for the fire places. I could use all KINDS of things. And if anyone is feeling really generous we'd love to replace our kicthen. ha ha.
Oh and btw we bought our couches at huffman koos i think it was like in the back area where it is stuff people either never picked up or it was the wrong fabric and they didnt want it, and we got it at a pretty good deal!! Actually a really good deal! You can get some good stuff at good prices ya just have to look. a couch is worth it though especiially if it is infront of the tv. if you guys watch a lot of tv. you will be spending alot of time on it!
sorry, i got a sweet leather set
i like these two:
I like the second one, no contest.
i do like the second one better, as far as looks, but the first one looks more comfy & inviting. the second one looks a bit hard.
The first one looks a little too 80's for me. You can always soften up black leather with light pillows.
haha, true. i thought the first one looked sort of worn as well. but i'd have to check em out in person, and see what the husband thinks. (he has at least SOME say, haha)
i already donated all my money to the
Thai Pham Hurricane Katrina Can Drive
i hope those victims enjoyed my Heiniken
bump
slip covers can make the furniture look shabby chic.
not the slipcovers we have. they're just...shabby. haha
When I couldn't afford expensive couches, I just got a couple at Ikea for like $200 each. I bought them like 2 years ago and they're still in good condition.
oh i heart ikea and it's lovely simple clean style.
thanks!!
see, though, i hate the idea of spending just a few hundred bucks when the living room set i really want is only like 1500 bucks. (it's not like i want to spend $10k on my furniture) i think it's a waste of money, just to have it for like a year. i dunno.
Ohhhhhhhhh. Yes, that makes sense. Maybe you could just make more custom slip covers, then.
i think it's cool that you have the same last name as Kailey(sp?) Duchaine on CSI:Miami
Woot woot
sorry i can't donate at the moment but maybe next year? hah
woah! i didnt know that! neatooooo
