Places I want to go to:
Patagonia (Argentina), Grand Canyon, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, Nuuk (Greenland), Norway, Iceland, Malta, Faroe Islands, Shetland Islands, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Isle of Mull, Isle of Skye, Brittany (France), Galicia (Spain), Gibraltar, Ostrov Beringa, Bohemia, Bavaria, The Black Forest, Transylvania (Romania), Tahiti, Great Wall of China, Alaska, Lapland (Finland), Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe), I want to take a boat from southern Chile to Antartica.. and there's others that I'll add as I recall them.
Best places I've been to:
Niagra Falls. Amazing. Take a walk behind the falls, and go on the Maid of the Mist boat, to be further wowed. Also down the river from the falls a bit, is a natural wirlpool that you could best see by taking the cable sky ride, I forget how many feet above it. Sorta scary.
Goes without saying, but London. Might sound like an obvious one, and not get the credit it deserves because of it's popularity being mistaken for overrateyness. But, it has 2 big, really nnice parks (Hyde Park and Regent's Park) , that are good for just relaxing (bring wine and a book or something), that everyone should see. And, what not everyone might know about -- you can go to this area called Little Venice (absolutely awesome) where you should take a narrowboat ride down Regent's canal (honestly, it feels so surreal.. like you're really somewhere else) to Camden Town market to sample food, drink, and look at vintage clothing.. midway down the canal you can even get off the boat to walk through a zoo. There's tons more to do, but I'll just mention one more necessary thing to do.. go to Greenwich to stand on the Prime Meridan of the World, where time is based. Very hilly and grassy area too.. very serene.
Conwy, Wales - awesome setting this town has. To add to the natural beauty, there's an 11th or 12th (I forget now) century castle, and the town is enclosed in a tall stone wall. The entire town's a fortress.
Oxford - really coo old buildings to look at.
Dublin - Don't leave without seeing the Dublin Castle and the old viking section, Dublinia. Those are the two biggest must sees probably.
madrid. coolest place ever. maybe just has to do w/ the fact that its european and everything they do is diffent. like siestas. (seriously we'd nap whereever we were b/c nothing was open. tons of benches in the town square and the plaza mayor (big plaza) in every town was full of people laying around and napping. everything was so clean. i lost weight while i was there even though i had to end up insulting the family i was staying w/ b/c i could not possibly eat another thing. everything wasw a party. so many street preformers, painters, dancers. and a fountain. fountains everywhere. i danced in at least one fountain a day. and i did not have one bad asthma attack the whole time i was there. the royal palace is huge.
toledo, only an hour away by car. everything here was sooo old. all the doors to restaurants and stuff had the knockers 4 feet above where you could reach b/c these doors were made when people rode up to the door on horseback. cobblestone everywhere and lil stones stick up to designate the street from the sidewalk. cars barely fit through here. lots of gypsy culture. have to be careful of pickpockets.
segovia. taking the train from madrid took about three hours. maybe two. has the old castle that cinderella's castle was based on. gave a view for miles. it had the nicest bathroom i've ever been in there. a view of all the land in the loo. and we learned how to bellydance from the gypsies.
wonderful things about spain: everyone is so nice. and respectful. the guys would follow you and stuff but no meant no and they'd leave you alone. there was beautiful architecture and paintingts everywhere. relaxed attitude. eating sooo much. i couldnt have asked for a better time or a better host family. i miss em. and i cant wait to travel back to spain.
greece. that's where im headed next. either im going w/school. (hisoty class. 3 credits for visiting a country!!) or using a present someone gave me and just staying in athens for two weeks and bumming it. but i wanna see athens and santorini and cant makie this work w/ the $300 traveling fees of the boats from mainland to island. and if anyone wants to join me if i dont end up going w/ school. lemme know. the villa has some extra room.

Okay! here are my suggestions out of the places I've been:
Italy: aaaaaamazing trip, there is so much history and culture and beautiful people packed into a country barely the size of california...I can't even name my favorite city, because I LOVED it all. Besides the more "well-known cities", Torino was beautiful....with tons to do without all the chaos of larger cities. Also, Ischia...beautiful mountains & beaches.
I love tropical places, my favorites (so far) are Bermuda, Aruba, St. Thomas, and Cozumel (just dont drink the water in Mexico!) Overall, i prefer the Eastern Carribean to the Western or Southern. I think the Eastern islands have the most beautiful beaches.
About Bermuda: DEFINATLY cruise....food is super expensive there...a burger & fries is like 15 bucks..plus what I like about cruising to Bermuda is that you're in one port for the full amount of time you are there...there are only two "at sea" days.
Aruba's beaches are beautiful but it is all desert terrain outside the beach... also, it's not a real "hot-spot" it's more couples oriented it seemed (which would have been fine, had I gone AFTER I was married!)
Toronto, Canada: ton's of Italian people...(highest Italian population outside of Italy) therefore: great italian restaurants! lots of good shopping & of course, Niagra Falls.
Onto the U.S.
(Besides NYC which is the greatest city in the world...haha)
Boston, MA: it is so quaint with tons of cool little shops. Places to hit: Faneuil Hall, Quincy Market, Boston Science Museum, Boston Aquarium.
SanFranciso, CA: Fisherman's Wharf
Baltimore,MD: Little Italy, Baltimore Aquarium
Palm Springs, FL: City Place: tons of ritzy stores for mostly window shopping, but a lot of fun and tons of night-life.
Grand Canyon, AZ-The Grand Canyon! so breathtaking.
I go to jersey, thats like another country if you are from new york. They have this thing called jughandles which you wont find anywhere else.
try europe. You can hit so many different places and only with a few hours of driving. When we all went to austria... we hit up italy and germany, sooo cool. Altho i NEED to go back to italy again. Ive been trying to decide about a euro trip for a while now. maybe we should try to plan one!!!
don't forget Poland
baaah, what did poland ever give me? besides some of that crappy spring water?
poland springs ... what it means to be from MAINE
i asked you if you wanted to come to greece or italy. too bad u missed ur chance. hahaha . naw i'm kidding lemme know if you wanna come.
