Hobbies
What kind of hobbies does everyone entertain? What would you like to do?
At the moment, my main hobbie is still knitting. I need to learn some more advanced stitches so I can knit something fancier then a generic scarf. I also write, but I don't really share that with anyone.
What I'd like to do:
-Mosaic tiling
-Soap making
-Play the guitar (we have 3 in the house and no one knows how to play)
-Ballroom dancing
-Pottery (used to do this, would like to get back into it again)
-Surfing
-Painting
-Singing
-Screen printing (Done this too..my sister and I may start a business!)
-Develop B&W photos (Not getting my own darkroom anytime soon, unfortunately)

You doing Ruby on Rails stuff?
well I wrote that one app for where I work, and been maintaining it and writing some webservices on top of it for interoperability with something else(its all very hush-hush). It's been in limbo since they keep changing databases for it (mainly waiting for them to get database up and ready for integration testing). Maybe you'll see it soon, I'll tell you what it is when they release it.
And I've been dabbling a little bit on my own. its really really nice for DB-centric apps. And I'm trying to learn Ruby better, its a lovely language.
...sort of like french, the whole lovely language thing
ooh ooh, is it this??? http://www.engadget.com/2006/05/04/vonage-prepping-voip-solutions-for-ds-and-psp/
heh. no. thats the first I heard of that.
Basically you're just running a softphone on a WIFI device. same deal as our WIFI-Phone.
But I did hear on some non-Corporate Vonage site(so its safe for me to say), that we were opening up our SIP credentials, so that you could use any softphone and even have it use the same info as your home device. that way your home number would ring your WIFI phone/softphone. that's interesting news. basically a free softphone.
I have hobbies, but none that I can do on the regular basis I'd like.
Painting.....like, on walls and stuff.
Cooking....that should be number one.
Singing....not professionally or anything, just for fun.
Being a mom....that REALLY should be number one....but anyways....
Catching up on my DVR'd shows
A funny one....cutting coupons every Sunday from the paper...seriously....and yeah, I'm sure like, 5 of you have scratched me off your 'friend' list now.
I used to rock climb a LOT....but life's too busy for me to do that now. I'm just thankful I'm down to one job now.....well, aside from the one that I don't get a paycheck for.
Ok....Lets see....
Let 2 rugrats pummel me 7 days a week
Oh yeah...I have no life....LOL!
No really:
Working out
Baseball
Watching any Star Wars movie repeatedly
Rockclimbing
Working out
Snowboarding (Really bad at it)
Reading (When I get time to)
Watching movies
i just read and do home improvementy crafts.
i really want someone to follow my friends and i around with a video camera
i will pay for this. IKEA needs more chaos.
please edit it then set to music, this could save me a lot of time and money in new pc hardware, a new video camera, and editing skills.
livy, if you still want to do this, we gotta pick a date.
Stop offering to pay...I still wanna do this I have Saturdays and Sundays free (Fridays are my tms & service meeting)
ok, we should totally do this on a saturday...
actually i got this idea for when we all meet up with Gina ...
i used to read and write A LOT more.. i wanna get back into that
and doing photography for fun, like just going outside and finding stuff to take pictures of.. haven't done that kinda stuff for a while...
I'm trying to read again now that school is done for the month (thats ironic). School kind of ruins reading for me, it's like a punishment, and I rarely do it for the enjoyment I get from reading anymore. Started Mansfield Park today, though, so I'm excited.
As for pictures- I haven't done this in a while but Ben and I like to spend one full day searching out abandoned places and taking pictures of them. When he was driving a truck for work it was better because he was always out in the middle of no where and writing down places he saw.
those are both fun things. I love abandoned places and all that fun stuff. Lots of that down here in the pines!
We may have to extend our search to south jersey. Hmmm
i work. i still read a lot. i am way behind on my video games. i want to learn how to throw knives. also i want to be get back on my screen writing and maybe do some mini dv movies. i've got some interesting ideas. lately i like to plan my diet and attempt to eat better. s'been going good. can't wait til summer to start wake boarding again. that's high on the list.
pushups. i just do pushups all day.
and a new hobby of collecting of wrestler figurines dressed up in Angel costumes.

hmm i really like to colect comics. but not like the book. just reading the comics in the paper everyday and cutting out all the ones i like. i have a large box full. i should really date them cuz some are turning yellow.
i wished i still painted. that was so much fun.
and i wish the jersey shore actually had good spots to surf at. stinks.
I like collecting comics too, but not like comic books or comics from the newspaper... like actual comics, like... i actually have jim gaffigan and brian regan in a cardboard box under my bed
I love jim gaffigan, but I'm not IN love with him...

producer? wanna produce for me? give me a million dollars and i'll give you a really good movie. honest.
hey you sound like me!
Awesome...move out here we can totally hang. NOBODY out here ever wants to be creative.
I like being creative... In fact, I was thinking last night that maybe I'm in a little bit of a creativity rut right now. I was leafing through my old books of poetry and thought maybe I should finish some of the stories I started writing years ago. It's funny, when I was younger, I thought conflict made for the best writing, so now that I don't have any life struggles, I feel like I don't have anything decent to contribute. Huh.
hah that's so funny, i was thinking the same exact thing recently, i don't have any of that teenage angst that i used to write all those great beginnings and middles of stories with no ends.. heh..
me too...i fid i don't have as much to write about these days.... i need some inspiration or somethin!
i like to film random bits of everytime any of my friends and i are hanging out. i move them into musiv videos but im trying to think of a sweet sweet fluid movie concept to cut them all into. itd probably be called "idiots in motion" or somethign like that.
