So did this girl ever move or what?

originalsnob originalsnobOG 2004 ·

The craziest thing happened. I keep thinking how it's fine for me to "leave" because at least ALL or most of the people I love will basically be in one place that I could always come back and visit. One of my REALLY good friends told me HE'S leaving as in *LEAVING the country leaving* and it's TOTALLY under wraps. I'm GOING TO MISS HIM SOOO MUCH! I got all weepy eyed. Can't say that I don't envy him a bit to. AMAZING GUY! But he's GETTING OUT!!!

that's pretty cool! where's he going? for how long? why?

and is it anyone we know?

originalsnob originalsnobOG 2004 ·

He's moving permanently overseas. For financial reasons, social issues that exist here (US/NJ) that he's fed up with that are less common where he's going. Ian I SWEAR! Finally, NO. I am pretty sure that no one knows him but, just to be safe that's as detailed as I'm going to get. He only told me and one other friend.

;0P

Ian, it looks like she's saying here that he'll be moving to Svalbard.. which is a part of the Kingdom of Norway that has free immigration. haha Sounds like this dude is gonna wind up on 'Locked Up Abroad.'

By the way, whenever someone says "overseas" it makes me think "military!" Say "abroad!" Abroad! hahah

Is it now safe to say what country he moved to? I think we let enough time pass to bring it back for a topic of conversation. We won't call Interpol on him.

i just saw the "FYI BRIAN VALENTINE IS MY GURU AND HERO!"

that's very flattering, lol

Still got a lot going on but....I might have found a very inexpensive complex where a sister we know lives with her family. If we did *fingers crossed* I would lol!

It's funny the type of wisdom that comes your way when you least expect. This has NOTHING to do with my move but somehow women always end up digging into the deeper things of life. I thought it was interesting all the same.

That's like walking past a store everyday and staring into the window at this item longingly. Everyday the same routine until finally, it's like either invest in the daggone item or stop torturing yourself!
He will walk by there one day and see that it's GONE, and that some other someone else loved it and bought. At that point he'll be sore that he had all the time in the world to get it but, he took for granted that he could get it "the next day" so to speak. You are definitely worth the investment lady!

Gave me a little extra boost ;)

this music kills me

are you saying you've made up your mind that you're going to move? or have you actually found a job, moved your publisher records, found a house and have a set date for moving?

originalsnob originalsnobOG 2004 ·

It's a go! Like I said I'm here into '09 still tying up loose ends and making final decisions. I have my savings to float on temporarily during the job transition, just in case. I've got to discuss things with my p/o (until January lol) and when it's time, my book study (also 'til Jan- so strange) conductor happens to be the secretary. Got ALL my ducks in a row so far.

i feel like you're leaving out the most exciting part of this tale. where are you going?

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003 ·

she's baiting us.

I like to say, you should definitely put things in writing when having a room-mate ... I've never had one (apart from my wife) but it seems complicated for paying bills and such unless things are agreed upon ahead of time.

Wish you the best wherever you end up!

originalsnob originalsnobOG 2004 ·

Yeah. It will take some adjusting. I LOVED being captain of my own command.
I actually never thought I'd have a room-mate until I had a "room-mate" haha but, things change I guess. A few guidelines and some compromise will go along way figuring out finances/bills I think. Thanks for the well wishes MO'!
