Media Power
by ThatDarnMom and I talk about this allll the time. It's really sickening how much power the media has these days. However, my ponderings of this subject were brought about because I was watching an MTV special. It was about this one lady who was about to get that stomach stapling surgury to be healthier and thinner, a young guy who thought he was hott stuff (I wanted to vomit on him) and was getting some type of leg surgury to be hotter, and these two very pretty girls who were getting different types of surgury so they could be beautiful. It was the two girls that really caught my attention. They had perfect bodies, they were young, beautiful, and the only thing wrong with them was their stuck-up personality. The one girl was getting a nose job and a boob job, the other was doing something to her thighs and both were getting their lips done. It was horrible. They were discussing how they spend hours in the bathroom preparing to go out because their idols are the play-mates and they have the playboy magazines infront of them when they get ready so they can look just like them. Their goal is to be a play-mate because they are "the perfect woman." How sick is that? These girls are actually fooled by this world of unnatural looking women. It made me mad that MTV was even airing the show. They have so much power in the media, it would be so easy for them to promote reality instead of playing up to the 'young and beautiful' idea.

i saw that show and basically i was laughing all the way through it... i think it was more of a making fun of these people. a lot of the "true lifes" are that way. its just a satire on real life. b/c these people are just idiots.
i think gastric bypass is awesome for people over 350 lbs. go for it. if you can't control your urges to eat and stuff. or your metabolism is slower then a three toe'd sloth

You misunderstand. Gastric bypass surgery or stomach stapling is a procedure whereby they take your stomach and section off a large part of it so that only a small pouch is left that food can get into. What it essentially does is force you to eat next to nothing since if you eat any more than a few bites your stomach will overflow and cause you to vomit. You then lose weight because you physically can't take in enough calories to maintain that weight.

Dang I missed that show, I usually like seeing shows like that, to see how self obsorbed people can be, and pathetic their lives really are. those shows intrigue me. & make me yell at the TV cause they are IDIOTS. its like the rich girls show, i hate that show beyond beleif but i love watching how pathetic those girls are.
btw , it makes me sick when people think they need plastic surgery to be a "better""looking" person.

actually i liked MTVs portrayal of these people. MTV made them look REALLY stupid. and there wasn't a question about it. these people are infectious human waste.
Well..I just wasn't sure if only people like us realize how stupid those girls and that idiot guy were. Like, do other people watch that and go "wow..I wish I could be just like them"?
i didn't get that vibe. but some people could be so backwards that they'd be inspired by such rubbish. anything's possible. but let the record state: those two girls repulsed me so much i had to turn it off. anyone who wants to be like them simply needs to be reset.
Bill Maher made a funny joke about people who get gastric bypass. he said it's like people who are addicted to cocaine plugging up their nostrils with crazy glue. heh.

whats sad is the girls getting surgery to be in playboy! I could see if there was an annoyance that you had then i'm all for surgery but to use it for vanity's sake...not good.
yea i got bicep surgery the other day... you should feel them.. rock hard biceps. i'm like popeye now. i carry around a can of spinach so people really think i worked hard for my muscles.. i dont want anyone knowing they are fake. it would make me a saaaad panda

I used to think that only rich people got plastic surgery...now tons of "normal" people do it. You can even get butt implants if you wanted them. How crazy is that?
