Calling Profs
So I called my two Profs today to tell them that because of the weather and my anti-4 wheel drive car I would not be coming to class. I don't think I said the right thing though. What does one exactly say when calling a Prof. I told them my name, what class I was in and when. I told them the reason I wasn't coming to class..but then what? Do I thank them for their time? Do I say I hope to be in class the next day? Do I just say good-bye? This kind of stuff applies to calling into work too.

professors never take me seriously.. so i never give them a real excuse anyway.. i just say " yea my babys mamma just found out i've been cheatin' on her so i wont be able to make it today " followed by " well ty just make sure you're here next week. i hate you "
yep, you said all the right stuff. I'm anti-calling professors in general, but most of them prefer that. I generally just shoot them an e-mail.
yeah, email is definitely the best way...totally non-confrontational
short messages are good for "business" matters. state your name and purpose and make your exit.
haha, just make your excuse, provide a number for them to reach you, and say bye.
ha ha, holy moly, are you seriuos, ,say whatever comes out of your mouth next, usually thanks buh bye
