Dunkin Donuts

modestjesse by modestjesseOG 2004 · Feb 11, 2004 · 236 views

I remember when I was young we always stopped at Dunkin Donuts out in service and I hated it. But little Miss Punk Princess' father always stopped there and when you're 9 years old you really don't have much of a say. Well now I can't get enough of the place and I stop there alteast twice a day. I used to get coffee all the time but lately it's just been tea.

Anyway, I have my afternoon cup of tea in front of me as we speak. Apparently they changed the stlye of the lid. This new lid, while it looks appealing, isn't at all. They now have the style lid that has an opening already on the top. I know Quick Checks, Wawa's, and 7-Eleven's have had this style lid for some time. But this one is different, it has a little lid that snaps back and forth so you can close that hole if you want.

Well this hole isn't big enough I don't think. You're top lip hugs this lid and in the process gets scolded as you drink your hot beverage. Not fun at all. Not only that but I can't drink the amount of tea per sip as I'm used to. So I'm practically forced to remove the lid there by defeating the entire purpose of having a lid. I'm starting a boycott of the lid!

Anyway, I was just bored so I figured I'd post that.

We saw these new lids and they baffled us.

Crazyness right? I don't like them, don't like them at all.

forrestina #4.2 forrestinaOG 2002

modestjesse #4.2.1 modestjesseOG 2004

That's just the Mattel curse. Can't bad mouth Barbie in public like that, not healthy.

forrestina #4.2.1.1 forrestinaOG 2002

we weren't bad mouthing...we were discussing anatomy and physiology.

modestjesse modestjesseOG 2004

I don't know what I'm going to do when I move to Hawaii. I hope they're out there.

socalgal #1.1.1 socalgalOG 2003

um I hadn't seen any....but you will be able to eat rice with your omlettes in the morning! lol

What island are you moving to and why? I have friends out there and nothign is better than hawaii, hot sun, SICK waves, you get to hang out and totally kick it....you even get to wear jsut hawaiian shirts and nice slacks for service....

modestjesse #1.1.1.1 modestjesseOG 2004

Ewww, I don't eat omlettes. Actually I don't eat breakfast, can't stand eggs, I just can't get out of my mind what an egg really is.

I'm moving to Oahu, near Kailua. I have a friend out there that I just met a few months ago that I've been keeping in contact with. Also there's a brother from my hall that lived there before he came back. But his sister is moving out there at the end of the month.

Why am I moving there? Mainly to get out of Jersey, I just want a change. I'm recently divorced so I don't have to worry about caring for the needs of anyone but my self. I plan on moving in September so I should be financially prepared for such a trip.

We'll see how it goes.

socalgal socalgalOG 2003

Yeah and you can order Spam from McD's....I was flipped. My friends were talking so highly of Spam and i started laughing until i realized it's the #1 food of choice! Then i saw it EVERYWHERE!

I LOVE Oahu. You are moving at the perfect time, Kailua's AWESOME, I have some friends that live near there, Kaneohe, and some that live on the north shore and some in waiane, you truly are going to have a blast, the ohana, aloha spirit....I'm getting sad...i miss it!

By the way, I'm SO sorry about your divorce! I'm stoked to hear your moving on instead of hanging around!

modestjesse modestjesseOG 2004

My friend actually lives in Kaneohe. :)

It's ok, life goes on. Just keep putting Jehovah first and it'll work out. :) But thanks. :)

socalgal socalgalOG 2003

whats your friends name?

That is so true, but Jah first and everything else falls into place! =)

perrin #1.2 perrinOG 2004

Do you have something similiar out there? Something that's kind of like Dunkin Donuts?

socalgal #1.2.1 socalgalOG 2003

the only craze are Krispy Kremes and we used to have this chain called Winchells, but now they've resorted to "ghetto"....we do have some mom and pop places too but nothing like the Dunkin Donuts back east

D

But Krispy Kremes don't even come close to Dunkin Donuts.

T
toxicgirlOG 2003

wow, i think this comment might cause an uproar

modestjesse modestjesseOG 2004

Why? Truth hurt? ;)

D
dgiaimoOG 2003

Yeah. Are there actually people who've had both and still prefer Krispy Kremes?

T
toxicgirlOG 2003

dunkin donuts make me feel like i am eating an entire cake...too heavy...that's why i like krispy kreme, they feel lighter (but yes, loaded on sugar)

modestjesse modestjesseOG 2004

Depends on the kind of donut you get.

T
toxicgirlOG 2003 modestjesse

true, but then again, nobody is eating a donut for its nutritional value

SO BASICALLY,

you like what you like, i like what i like. hooray.

tinser tinserOG 2002

wow, i think its the opposite...i feel krispy kreme sit in my stomach they are so heavy...seriously...i dont feel well all day after eating one of them

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003

i agree. krispy kremes are way overrated. delicious and addicting, but overrated. dunkin' donuts boston creme is unchained!

tinser tinserOG 2002

ugh, krispy kremes are painful...way too much sugar and fat.

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002

Yeah, I definetly think they're too sugary.

yodasucka yodasuckaOG 2003

yea i hear that... i can't ever finish a whole one... i get half way thru then get sick haha but dunkin donuts.. yea i can eat a dozen by myself...

socalgal socalgalOG 2003

honestly, they tasted the same to me....maybe i was just too cold in boston to really even notice there was a difference....lol
