Travel Plans

So I'm getting ready to book my trip to Hawaii but I don't know how I should go about it. Do you think a travel agent will get me a better deal or should I go through a web site like Travelocity.com?

Yeah, this is the first trip I think I've ever had to book myself. My ex-wife or my company has always taken care of it.

What's so complicated about it? You just get your tickets, get a hotel room, and go.

On a side note, why are hotel rooms so expensive?

I'm going to Oahu to visit a friend. But I can't stay with her because I don't think that would go over too well if you know what I mean.

I really just need a flight, hotel, and car. I was checking out Travelocity yesterday and they had flight and hotel deals that weren't too bad. But if a travel agency won't save me money and make things any easier it probably makes more sense to book it myself on line.

travel agents are usually more expansive, cause they need to get paid also.
who do you know in Oahu?

travel agents wont save you much money.. go to yahoo travel.. they deal in mass volumes so it's always cheaper. do it.

I think it depends on what you want to do while you are there, how much you want to spend, and what kind of place you want to stay in. If you don't care, and all you want is a flight, don't go through a travel agent.

yeah, and hit up the library...i'm sure they have a ton of books on hawaii if you're looking for the places to see, the restaurants to eat in, etc.

If you are going to Maui, I can ask my husband for ideas...he went there, and did a lot of cool stuff while he was there.
