The Night Sky

My brother lives in Bushkill, PA. When I visited him a couple of weeks ago I noticed how much brighter the night sky is in that rural area than my home town of Succasunna, NJ. Why? Well, it is city light pollution that we Jerseyites are cursed with. It got me thinking though. Seeing a more diverse array of stars in his area further deepened my appreciation for Jehovah's creation and his magnificent power. People just don't realize the amount of power that one of these stars holds. They take stuff like that for granted. I am truly happy that I don't. Anytime I feel weak or distressed, all I have to do is look up at that night sky our creator engineered and I know that he is with me.

How do you all feel about that? It's a pretty good feeling isn't it?

That is awesome that you can reflect on something like that. To many people miss the simple beauty that is right around us... literally under our noses. Clap - Clap - Clap...

one of the top ten greatest feelings i've experienced: sitting on a perfectly warm beach in cali under a dark sky FULL of stars and just listening to the sounds of the waves, and feeling the soft white sand. Oh my goodness, sooooo amazing

please take me back right now!

that night of the bonfire the sky was amazing. sitting there with all your friends around you and a warm fire, full stomach was just perfect. the sky was black as anything with few bright stars shining out that i could appreciate over the ocean. simply perfect night.

we used to camp in Montauk and Vermont. The skys were outrageous. It was like in the bible story book when Abraham was looking up in the sky....awwwwwsome.

Looking at all the galaxies and stars makes me want to hop into my Millenium Falcon pencil sharpener and take off!

ilikebirds #5.1 ilikebirdsOG 2002

i do that sometimes, but i get stuck.. and then i cant go anywhere because i can't reach the controls... and when i do i just fall out, albeit a bit sharper than before

Its awesome. Truly awe inspiring. I know when I was up in Maine I just felt taken back by the stars there. I love to stare up at the night sky because I'm fascinated with space. Even here in Jersey on a clear night we can still see some pretty amazing things, even though the city lights block a lot of it.

I tell you whats another amazing thing is when you look at some satellite photo's. I was looking at one the other day and it was just amazing to see all the GALAXIES that were there, not even just stars. The universe is an amazing thing and when you stop and realize that aside from the heavens we're the only inteligent creatures that have a spiritual need, just how loving our creater is to give us all these things to feast our eyes on.

I can sit back for hours and just dwell on space, it will be something incredible to see what Jehovah has in store for us.

Yeah, I mean in the new system of things, Earth would eventually fill up with people. Who's to say humans would not fan out across the universe and use a stargate type mechanism to travel to new worlds. That would be cool!

thatdarngirl #4.1.1 thatdarngirlOG 2002

I am going to be a space pirate!

fivezero #4.1.1.1 fivezeroOG 2003

i'll run into you every now and then and be like "lindsay! i haven't seen you in 4576854638 years, how've ya been?"

skaorsk8 skaorsk8OG 2002

she will probably look the same, her hair may be shorter.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003

of course she'll look the same, it'll be the new system! and i wonder if i could have a mohawk in the new system. hmmm.

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002

see i dont look at the stars to see how powerful jehovah is... i just look at the cobra, Jehovah created the cobra... and the cobra spits in my eye , then i die. and then i say ' see how powerful God is "

perrin #2 perrinOG 2004

Yeah I feel the same way. Light pollution is horrible. You can't see any stars around here I hate it. Whenever I go to Canada I always take one night and go for a walk and just look up at the sky and see how beautiful it is and just meditate on the things jehovah has created. It's just breathe taking to look up and see this. I totally agree with you.

I've never been to Canada. The stars must be even better up there.

socalgal #1 socalgalOG 2003

yes, its when you're one on one with nature that you really realize how amazing Jah made this universe and us as humans!
