Mechanics
Hey I figured a lot of us here may have some projects we want to do with our cars or some sweet rides we may want to fix up. So I figured we could use this forum to discuss some of that stuff. Right now I have my eyes on an old Plymouth Duster from the early 70's. The car is pretty sweet. I know it has a small V8 in it but could probably be upgraded. If anyone wants to talk about that here please feel free to.

i have a 1998 chicken
oh man, i found one of those on ebay but it went for $.05 more than i could afford
did it have stock? or do you have to add that?
oh man, i got a 1990 pontiac LE and that trash has got some power, its doesn't have more kits available for it because that ice blue color is so hot and i love how everything on the car and inside the car is blue, makes me feel like twisting up on a swing to spin in circles after eating a big dinner.
thats really neat...
i bought a new antenna for my jetta, does that count? haha
haha well did you install it?
yeah....it was a rough installation, but i did it
next up on my jetta reparation project: suck the bump out of the driver door, new muffler, and new brake pads...yeah, no more self-installations
those repairs are not too hard actually. I could probably do them on a good Saturday afternoon. Especially depending on the size of the bump and the location of it. If you have some major suction cups or that glue screw they work really well and can almost be erased. Last year I fixed one vehicles side where the entire door had been mashed. After a few yanks the thing was about 1/3 the size
yeah, my dad bought a big suction cup thingy...but he hasnt fixed it yet and its been like that forever...i really want to just take it to a body shop
is it one suction cup or 3?
hmm, i'm not sure....i never looked at it...but i think just 1
new brake pads are pretty easy too and the new muffler. I mean you just jack your car up on each side and take off the tires then hopefully your brake drums havent rusted on the vehicle. If they have you can usually bang em out with a crow bar and a big hammer. Then you just replace the pad allignment, and don't forget where all the springs connect. But its seriously not rocket science. Muffler is a little work but that will come off too
haha, yeah right....i cant even pop the hood on my car
gosh i sense tinkerbell syndrome
haha its like this. I have met 2 types of girls. 1) Too scared to touch anything mechanical or 2) Will take on any challenge thrown at them. I mean those repairs you are talking about are not too bad and you could do them yourself and save a lot of money on repairs.
hmm, well i think there are 4 types of guys: 1) sport guys 2) geek guys 3) music guys and 4) car guys....i've always liked the car guys....so, i dont need to fix my own car, haha....do i sound like a little princess yet?
the real reason is that i'd probably mess it up unless somebody showed me how
Yeah but some guys are a combination of more than one of those so doesn't that actually make a whole bunch of other kinds of guys? lol
haha she forgot the final category of what other types of guys there are...LAZY. They dont do nothing and dont know nothing LOL. Usually called music guys. haha jk
Yeah I actually know quite a few of those and they aren't called music guys their called creative guys. lol
LOL haha. Like see I wouldn't classify myself specifically as any of those. Yeah I play music, I fix cars and I love sports. But first and foremost...I am a lover
oh gosh. My own mom just jumps right in to fixing an engine. You read the manual cause thats what its there for. If you dont understand ask someone who knows. They can show you but the more you practice the better you shall become. Where are you from anyways?
East Gabib. We feel really bad for her because she lives in such oppresive conditions so we let her play on our website.
yeah, fortunately for her that prison of an island she's trapped on has a train system, otherwise, she'd never escape
haha, yes...its extremely oppressive here...i had to move 15,000 lbs of cement before they'd let me get on the computer
I think, in going with my Puerto Rican heritage, I'm going to go purchase a late '70s Toyota Corrola for about $500. I just need to make sure the color is either primer or the hood and doors are different colors from the car. Once I have that set I'm going to put 17"'s on them with spinner rims. Then I'm going to slap in a sweet sound system that will rattle my hatch every time the base drops.
It will be sweet.
haha man get the original 60's jeeps they had
no no, jesse spinner HUB CAPS...
dude i want your 67 'stang juicer
thats a sweet ride dude. Believe it or not I have seen a lot of those on the road still especially in the Virginia/North Carolina area.
my friend has a 75 duster... it hasn't run in about 5 years... but hes been working on it haha
i was lookin at body kits for my celica, and this one looks so hot...
