i voted for St Marks cuz i've never been to South Street but St Marks has many cute lil cafes that are fun
agh CUTE!!!! haha
I was in Philly this weekend. I really don't enjoy cities but Philly is pretty cool and their china town is totally better then NYC's.
haha san fran chinatown rocks. NYC china town is nasty. Have you ever seen it in the Gremlins?
yeah, cisco's chinatown is awesome...way cleaner
yeah and it has better food.
never got a chance to eat there...i'll have to keep it in mind next time i'm there
haha they just opened up 4 new restaurants at the airport that ROCK. Sky Asian Bistro, Sammys BBQ, and Mex and the City and some salad bar. The food is goooooood. I am gonna gain weight
yeah it is. SF is a mini NYC
maybe that's why i like it so much....san francisco is one of those places i would really love to live (just like the tanners!)
oh yeah me too, becasue it has that east coast feel, but on the west side
totally...hey, do you know if real estate there is notoriously expensive like san diego and la?
its more so. you're looking to pay close to $1M for a condo
woah! thats insane...oh well...guess i won't be living there in the near future
rent.
I'd never be able to afford real estate in hawaii. not anytime soon anyway.
yeah, i just hate seeing money disappear when you could have it going somewhere...like towards a mortgage
property taxes aer a killer also. some are paying $3K + for property taxes here in CA
wow, that's cheap! property must be smaller there....because people out here pay $12,000-$15,000 for an acre
oh its not cheap for what you have. you've been here, we go by sq footage, not acres. that would be a LOAD of money if it were acres, but there's not enough land. maybe in the 909
my in-laws in western PA pay like $60 a year for real estate taxes. makes me cry.
WOW that is crazy!! awesome but so unreal here! my parents signed over the house to me and my sister.. My dad kept his name as a 3rd party whatever and since he's still on there, our property taxes are like $800
I hear ya, when I first got married we were renting an apartment for like $660 a month, and we thought the same way you did. So we bought a house and was paying $1280 a month and our taxes were like $6000 a year, worked out a lot better to know we were going to have something to show for it. After I left the house I was paying $1005 a month and wanted to vomit. It's sad to see all that money wasted and have nothing to show for it. But in Hawaii I'll be doing rent again and who knows, maybe one day I'll find something, but rent for now. Who knows what you'll come into. Get out of NY it could be a nice change for you. :)
yeah, i'd like to try something different....i don't want to live in NY the rest of my life just by default....if i'm gonna live here...i want it to be because i've experianced other things and made a choice
Delaware the land of opportunity
Yeah, same goes for us with Phoenix. But it's really good that Adam's dad is a real estate agent there...hahahaha. :)
isn't the village full of gay people
i don't really like NYC anymore
Philly rules
No, it's full of culture, all types, it's a wonderful thing.
whoa that's a stereotype. The Village is an exotic neighborhood with gay people in it but I wouldn't say its FULL of them.
Neither. Portobello Road in London
yeah well this is for us local northeasterners. Not a bunch of Ceaux de Weiloitte
Dallas BBQ should be on it. MMM Wait I know they have a BBQ place haha
my fave thai restaurant is by st marks
Thailand Cafe?
no "the republic"
Hrm, never been to that one. Which street is it on?
St. Marks is way better than South Street.
haha well I guess its true. I mean on St Marks Place I usually find good deals on music and stuff but on South Street I have been able to find good deals on rarities that I really want.
I think it depends on what you want to do and who you are. South Street is very alive all the time (my sister lived on south street for a while and when sleeping over it was hard to ever sleep). St. Marks is awesome though because its totally directed and visited by only a certain type of people for the most part.
St Marks is so much better, nothing but guidos and other morons on South Street. The shops are better, the restaurants are better, the people are better.
is there really even a question?
