Dieting foods
OK, so i need to lose weight. Not just want to, need to. It is for my back and my ankles. I do some working out, but i can't do alot of lifting etc...Dancing does help lose me some, but i don't do it as often as i'd like...
I've been eating oatmeal for breakfast and cornflakes for lunch. Then a not too heavy meal for dinner. It's helping so far, but i am getting tired of the same things and I AM NOT a person who likes vegetables at all. I need new foods. PLEASE HELP!!

this chick i know that's lost weight and kept it off swears by atkins, but that wouldn't work for me buddy. i barely eat meat.
i swear by atkins. and my mom who lost 130 lbs on it. but it just isn't for everyone. it's actually not that good for me cuz i hate meat but i force myself to do it because it works so well.
sometimes i crave meat, but when i eat it i end up sick afterwards. this doesn't always happen with chicken or turkey tho.

Yeah but the problem with Atkins is that you'll have a heart attack after being on it. I mean Dr. atkins was over weight and had heart disease. That diet may make you lose weight but it's very dangerous at the same time.
you know what i've learned - the high fat content is only the first couple of weeks, to keep you full - then you gradually lower your fat intake.
All I know is that the people I know that are on this diet loose weight fast but they don't look very healthy.
atkins is almost like a rage diet now....u can get it anywheres. I went to subway the other day & the guy at the counter asked if i wanted it the atkins way. When i asked what it was he proceded to point out that it would be 3 peppers, one olive & 2 onions..or something like that. I laughed & told him no thanx ;)
1. Drink lots of water
2. Avoid foods labeled reduced/low fat, sometimes the fat content isn't that low and it can have a load of extra salt
3. Eat a small salad for lunch
4. Cut back on carbs, but not entirely
5. Take a walk everyday

i don't understand this diet stuff... i eat what i want... when i want... which is prolly why i'm going to die in a few years...
me too.....why bother eating healthy...you could get hit by a mac truck anyway....i say eating what you want when you want is the best

eXactly...one day they say its good for you, and the next it causes cancer...although, i'm pretty sure mcdonalds has never been good for you....but, i'll never give that up
good rule of thumb-meat + veggies is good. Veggies + Carbs is good. Meat + heavy carbs BAD. have veggies in pasta, on pizza, put them w/ stuff. i even like to make loaded baked potatoes w/ broccoli, butter & cheese
tons and tons of tuna fish. if you eat this straight, you are guaranteed to drop tons of weight. or just tons of chicken and meat in small portions. with a small salad every day. works perfectly.
And if you want to make the tuna taste better mix some shredded carrots and slice celery in because then you are getting your veges too!
ewwwwwww i have a gross story. on friday nite kinda late we went to the budd lake diner (which i have hated for years for other reasons) but i order a tuna sandwhich and the tuna came out green. not like sliced celery green but like green snot nose goo green. it was disgusting!! i mean i know it's a diner but it is quite possibly the worst diner around. i do not know why everyone else loves it so much.

one time we didn't have carrots so mel decided to try black olives. we didn't really like that.

you would not like it. remember when i tried to make us tuna with vinegar so we wouldn't be so fat....that was gross.
it doesn't taste good at all but it is the fastest way to losing weight. just put mayo or whatever you normally do in it and then it'll be all right.
option 350: try this, make a regular salad just the way u like it(i luv ranch dressing so i use the no or low fat version which tastes the same, I would know ;) & then just throw in a can of tuna & mix it all up* It tastes good & even tho salad doesn't really fill ya the tuna in it does the job.
you kinda need those vegetables, the nutrients help break down fat. if you really don't like them, spread them out through the day, you don't have to eat your day's veggies all in one meal. try eating like 4-5 small/medium meals a day, and never skip breakfast, it gets your metabolism going.

I always heard it was better to eat a light breakfast you know maybe just some fruit then to eat a moderate lunch and a big dinner. I was told that the admonition that breakfast is the most important meal of the day is a complete farce. If your that sure of it though I guess whoever told me that is wrong. hm. interesting very interesting indeed.
when you're going to take a test a decent b-fast is good, but for dietary purposes....BIG breakfast, decent lunch and small, very small dinner. that's when you can gain the most weight...learnedd from nutritionists and trainers have told me

it's been helping me to munch throughout the day on veggies and fruits, but yea i'm not a good person to ask since i pretty much eat what i want to when i want to.
woah, woah, what's with the carbs here?? why not try this "south beach" diet, see how it works for you...?
the menus are ridiculous, i have the book and i ditched the idea immediately, doesn't seem practical

see i thought it was ridiculous too but my grandma and aunt are on it and they love and plan to continue eating that way for the rest of their lives. i idd n't like it but they do.
