Spring Moon
I forgot to recommend this book. I read this in my English class in 12th grade. I thoroughly enjoyed it - that is when my love for all things Chinese began.
This book starts with a story about a young girl in China in the 1890's and continues as her life goes on through the mid 1900's.
It's an extremely long book, but I remember I just couldn't put it down. It's great.
The book is "Spring Moon" by Bette Bao Lord
