i wanna write a book

ekulu by ekuluOG 2002 · Oct 11, 2003 · 217 views

years ago i remeber i started writing at least 3 science fiction novels. Some of them i got pretty far in and in some i only got through a couple of chapters. People told me the writing was good, but I guess writing novels just wasnt my thing. Even though i like writing and supposedly I'm good at it, it's really BORING to try to write a novel. So I'm tryin to concnetrate more on short stories now. But I still don't even have patience for them, I guess i just need to be inspired, which i haven't been in a long time. A thing that i'm doin right now is watching a lot of tv and movie and takin notes on interestin ideas. Eventually something will come together in my mind.

soon. i have a story online that i wrote with someone else, kinda page for page. it's kinda all over the place. but it was some fast writing and some fast thinking, real improvisation. i'm proud of it. warts and all. if i could just find the bleeding link!

thatdarngirl #6.2.1.1 thatdarngirlOG 2002

Warts are pretty gross. Maybe it's just the name that makes it ultra-gross.

i don;t have anything fresh and new, but lately my brain has been a little more active, so i think i'll be able to pump something out fairly soon. If u want an idea of what it's gonna be like, think something along the lines of Care Bears meets The Matrix...in Fuedal Japan

fivezero #6.3.1 fivezeroOG 2003

will it have hattori hanzo steel?!

ekulu #6.3.1.1 ekuluOG 2002

umm, not that i know of. i'm not big on japanese swords.

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002

I'm taking Japanese 1 starting next semester!! So exciting.

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003

okay. NOW THAAAT is cool. i would LOVE to take Japanese. something about that whole culture that completely intrigues me. s'fun.

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002

I'm pretty much obsessed with Japan and all things Japanese. I almost decided to switch to Greek because Greece interests me as well..but Japanese! I can read all the manga I want

fivezero fivezeroOG 2003

HECK YA! Manga's fun. ever read the AKIRA manga? or Lone Wolf and Cub or Blade of the Immortal? and why not some Usagi Yojimbo? i'm REALLY sore i won't be able to see KILL BILL.

I wanna right a story where the guy kills someone. but that person really doesn't die.. because the guy who killed him, was himself. but from the future who's mother was an ex-marine killing vietnamese tree huggin hippie.
But i just dont know where to start...

i have an idea...
everytime i am on aim late at night, right before i go to bed, i need a bedtime story before i can sign off. usually i get this one kid to tell me ones and they're pretty hysterical but maybe you can write me stories. they don't have to be long or anything. just entertainment.

thatdarngirl #3 thatdarngirlOG 2002

I love writing so much. In my mind my stories can be super long, but I can never get real length out of stories on paper so I always stick with little short stories. Poetry, on the other hand, is completely out of my grasp.

fivezero #3.1 fivezeroOG 2003

i'm the same way. i have epic stories in my head. but when i go to write them down--theres just no way i'm getting all of it down. thats why i like to write screen plays, scripts and synpsis of longer stories, get the key chain of events down, not exactly every word of dialoque, but the important stuff. i write a lot lately. mostly at work. also, i can't write on the computer. it's gotta go written down with a pencil. thats just me.

malibu #3.1.1 malibuOG 2001

its true. writing on the comptuer is basically just for reports and thing that you HAVE to do. but writing down in a journal or paper, that's a story cuz that's your feeling.

thatdarngirl #3.1.2 thatdarngirlOG 2002

I have had this story brewing in my head for years, and it keeps getting refined. So lately, instead of just trying to write it and failing once again, I've been organizing the main ideas and outlining it pretty much.

fivezero #3.1.2.1 fivezeroOG 2003

same here. thats the way to do it. i've found more success and covered more ground in recent weeks, than i have in years.

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002

Yeah..I think you gotta organize all the ideas into something coherent first.

malibu #2 malibuOG 2001

the other day i was going through my computer to delete obsolete documents and i came across the first chapter of that science fiction story we were writing.

ekulu #2.1 ekuluOG 2002

do you think that thst storuy was goin anywhere? we could keep it up u know. today i was in the desert at night a i got a real roswell feel, got some ideas. I neeeeed to get back to writing

malibu #2.1.1 malibuOG 2001

i don't think i ever finished the first chapter. i mean i hvae it but its only like 4 pages long.

tinser #1 tinserOG 2002

i used to always do that too...i must have ten different stories i started writing...and never really got beyond the first chapter....in my mind i did though...so i guess it was really more of a way for me to be creative, then to accomplish something
