for those who may be interested, Trigun has a manga series coming to the US next month (i already got mine on preorder hehe) and i also heard there was a collected edition thing that was really thick book but the comic book dude said they pretty much sold out after they opened the book.
the tick comic books were the FUNNIEST!!!
my cousin used to tell me that...SPOON!
if u want a good story, pick up Spiderman's Tangled Web. the line just finished a few monhts ago. It's about the villain's life and how s/he lives, and how Spiderman effects their life. It's one of the best Spiderman titles i ever read. The comic is drawn by a different artist for each string along with writer so it really gives a wide array variety.. I think there's 23 issues or so. But yeah, if you're a spiderman fan, or even if ur not, pick up this title! back issues may be available.
i was just alarmed/noticed yesterday about a new short series that Marvel has put out. It's called "1602". It appears to be a story about superheroes in the year 1602. Its drawn by Andy Kubert and i think its written by Neil Gaiman. This i MUST pick up
wow. i never got into neil gaiman, but i respect his work. i read one of his books, never any of his comics tho. but that miniseries looks good. i'll give it a look. there aren't any comics coming out that i'm excited about. i do suggest optic nerve, but they're a lil hard to come by and a miniseries that came out a lil bit ago, 100% by Paul Pope. that was pure bliss. the art blows me away.
they are indeed making a third one. judging by the end of the movie, it may well include jean grey as pheonix. (the symbol of the bird in the water, and did u notice jean's eyes turning red in the movie?) there has to be pheonix in the next movie! in fact there was a rumor going around about there might be a wolverine movie. that would be cool, but then again, it is just a rumor.
I hate the Pheonix saga with a deep passion.
hmmmm. i don't read the regular comic books but i love the sunday comics. i have all those books. like foxtrot and calvin and hobbs. man you can't even get me started on you AMAZING calvin and hobbs are. i love them!!
Calvin and Hobbes has always been a major favorite. those lil strips were so funny and so heartwarming at the same time. i was DEEPLY sad when i heard it was cancelled.
i continue to read all the old ones and pick up new books and some of the stuff i still do because i refuse to grow-up. with water balloons and all the great tricks. just reminds you of the best part of being young.
i send my dad this one all the time.....calvin calls his dad and says" wow dad since you got up at 9 that was way before i got up at 12 to enjoy my summer vacation. just giving you a call to say good afternoon and to hope you are enjoying your corporate lifestyle and being a grown-up while i'm at home having no responsiblity." hahahahaha. i love it!!
i think i haver the number 1's of every comic book ever published.
i don't really read any comics anymore. i'm down to a couple. Stray Bullets by Dave Lapham and anything by Frank Miller. i used to be into a lot of Image comics, mainly Savage Dragon and surrounding titles. I'll still pick up the occasional vertigo/dc title. but marvel is a really crappy company nowadays. the only books they have worth reading are X-statix by Milligan and Allred and Punisher by Ennis and Dillon. i don't buy batman, but i've noticed the batman titles, artwise, are looking REALLY good. i basically read comics for the art, not the resale value or just to collect and accumulate them.
I like Optic Nerve-Adrian Tormine comics.
lol i was looking through the forums, since im a newbee here, and was wondering if i put this in the right section? Would the Geek section be better? lol
this whole site is a "geek" section, but the geek forum is for techy geeks
so what every1 think of the new xmen movie?
i thought it was extremely well done. good acting jobs all around and the production and direction was first rate. it was the best representation of those characters possible give the circumstances.
they're making a third one too aren't they? i love the scene where the assassian mutant tries to kill the prez in the beginning. that scene was stellar and amazing. i couldn't belive it!!
yup it's a trilogy, at least. and yeah, that was Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler. he did an amazing job and the effects were extremely good. i also liked when mystique delivers the gaurd with the iron capsules in his blood and magneto extracts them and uses the lil iron balls to break out of his glass prison. amazing.
uuugh! that part and the part when they fill the lady wolverine up with lead just sickens me. after seing it the first time, i couldnt' watch that part again.
that was pretty hardcore actually. i didn't see such a brutal battle coming. she slashed him up, stabbed him all over [with many pains]. she threw him a round butt whuppin'. but yeah, when he filled her with the liquid metal, and she cried those adamantium tears, i asked myself, "did that just happen?" pretty violent.
I thought that fight was so awe-some because they could both heal and both had the claw thing going on so it could have gone on forever! But Wolverine totally wrecks her good.
i laughed my head off when her head went DUNK! in the tub thing
hugh (wolverine) jackman, was so awesome in this one.... in the mansion when they are coming after the kids, and he jumps off the stairs and throws the guys behind him.... before that when he slammed the guy into the fridge with his claws so awesome! I was cheerin him on bit time
yeah, when he ran that dude into to the fridge and stabbed him he let out a pretty satisfying scream. berserker rage!
I loved when the ecto-1 blazes in. And Egon throws in the trap. And they totally rake in Slimer with the proton packs.
