DARK TOWER v5: WOLVES OF THE CALLA came out a bit ago. i bought it while on vacay and devoured it. it was extremely good. the journey to save the dark tower continues even when the main characters digress to save a town from invading "wolves" that steal their children. their path is unclear, but it will inevitably take them to the dark tower, no matter how many stops they make along the way! this book just ruled. stephen king even wrote himself into the story at the end! but don't read it before reading the previous FOUR books of the series! hahahaha. *aware of the fact that NO ONE will read these*
I don't read Stephen King, although I did read one of his short story books that a brother lent me, it was good, but bothered me a little, so I stopped, and never picked up his stuff after that, but I have seen a couple of his movies on TV. I think Firestarter is awesome. some people could take it as demo, but then they'd be the same people to take X-Men as demo. Its however you look at it. Are these powers from demons or genetic mutations? The fact that the father suffered physical exertion from using his powers and that they were passed on to his daughter (but in a different form) makes me think that, like the X-Men, theres a genetic/mutation reason for the powers. so I was cool with that.
But i think in this situation it has a little more to do with who wrote or who created it. I think stephen king is a demon himself, so everything he writes is too... but i know what your saying, its like playing killing games and tell mom that its "only robots"
after the flood, Jehovah didn't allow demons to take the form of humans anymore. so I doubt it.
Haha. we used to do that with my friend's mom. I'd come over and we'd rent "Rolling Thunder" for the NES and tell her everyone was a robot!
I always was told that he is big time demonized, and if you read it you WILL be effected. so.... enjoy?
thats what everyone says, but the vast majority are, in fact, not demonized. just stear clear of Carrie and Shining and a few select others...
well, i've never read him myself, so you would know better than I, but just a heads up i guess. I remember seeing IT, the clown movie in parts and that was big time demo and it was one of his.
man i was tlaking about wanting to read the shining today so when i got scared i could put it in the freezer and be like joey.
and Salems Lot, all about vampires.
word. skip that one too.
stephen king. i just don't like him. started reading one of his books (i think it might have been this series. something about a dragon) and it was describing something painful to my virgin eyes so i had to stop.
ahhh, yeah, Eye of the Dragon. that's a lil part of the Dark Tower puzzle..
My husband likes it, I bought him the Gunslinger and .. the Three Doors or something like that. He read the Gunslinger really fast. I tried to read it but i coudlnt' really get into it for some reason...
awesome. 'the gunsliger' is really good and you must mean 'the drawing of the three.' good stuff. the third one is called 'wastelands,' and the fourth is called 'the wizard and glass.' they're releasing books five, six and seven over the next few years. the last one is called DARK TOWER! i'm beyond excited. the whole seven book series will turn out to be over 5000 pages! not to mention the other SK books that tie in and add insight, like the Stand, Insomnia, Salems Lots, Rose Madder and others.
