Tuesdays with Moorie

I usually hate all the books that I have to read for school. I usually don’t even read them. I just read some online notes and write my papers from there. But this one is different. My creative writing teacher assigned us this book called Tuesdays With Moorie and I actually sat down and read it. I LOVED it. It was such a great book. It is about this guy named Mitch who goes back to stay with his old college professor, Moorie, as he dies. Moorie is this brilliant guy who teaches Mitch everything that he has learned in his life. The book is just plain great and you all should read it. I’m pretty sure that it is based on a true story, but I could be wrong.

Any ways, Moorie says all these great things that really make ya stop and think. For example, in this one part he is trying to get Mitch to see the importance of helping others and he says to Mitch “Devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning”. I really liked that. Haha. Just go read this book!
