Little House on the Prairie sucks
Haha I just want to know if anyone else had to go thru what I did when I was a kid. I was like 9 years old and I remember I had to read a Little House on the Prairie book and gosh it sucked. 360 pages about these girls playing with little rabbits in a field of happy loving bunnies. Gosh did anyone else have to read something stupid in school?

i absolutely adore these books. But really only, 1-Little House on the Praire, Little House in the Big Woods, and Farmer Boy. The rest, i read, but they got pretty sad. Jack the dog dies, Mary goes blind....sad.
Laura Ingalls was hot...
Ugh..are you serious? Have you ever seen a picture of her. Laura Ingalls was as ugly as sin.
well i had a crush on her when i was little, so poo on you!
I have read many books which I have disliked - usually becuase the story becomes too drawn out and pointless, and does nothing to develop the plot, or contribute to my caring about the characters.
One book that comes to mind is the Borne Supremecy. I saw Borne Identity, I love to read, so I thought "hey great, this'll be good". Man, was I wrong. About page 500, I realized - there is no more point to this story. It's 250 pages too long. WHYYYYY. So I put the book away, never to be looked at again. (Although, I did read most of the book in about 2 days.)
Did you read The Bourne Identity tho?
nope. i didn't. should i? hopefully it wasn't so drawn out. borne gets hunted. someone gets kidnapped. there's a fight. borne escapes. borne gets hunted. arghhhhhh
You just started reading the trilogy in the middle? The first book is the best. And the movies are pretty much just "inspired" by the books, not so much based on them. If you liked The Bourne Supremacy at all, you owe it to yourself to read The Bourne Identity.
i read the first two in the series... difficult reading (for me anyway) but very interesting. And yeah, the movies are cool, but not even close to the books
yeah, definitely tough reading. but very very cool
so i read the first one and i loved it. a gazillion times better than the movie. then i read the second one and i hated it sooo much that i don't think i wanna read the third one. is it any good?
I have Bourne Identity reading bits between a Grisham book.
i could never get thru 5 seconds of the show but obviously that is different than the books..
im a compulsive reader. i cant think of something i really hated reading although last year i did attempt and fail to finish Ulysses by James Joyce. i couldnt follow the story. a friend told me its easier if you have a reading partner to discuss it with.
now about little house on the prarie. i think either you get the adventurous spirit of living simply or you dont. ive read all the series several times (and own it) and cant remember anything about "girls playing with little rabbits in a field of happy loving bunnies". i dont even think that makes sense. maybe that was your 9 year old minds impression, but it isnt accurate.
James Joyce is a moron, stay away from his books. I can write a journal and call it a literary masterpiece and it would make more sense then Portrait of an Artist as a Young Man.
thanks for the nugget of wisdom ... i was just trying to read everything on the random house 100 best novels list and figured id start at the top
I have a harvard list I want to get through one day.
see i have a problem with these lists. most of the books on these lists are considered good because they were revolutionary for what was going on at that time. like huck finn discussing slavery. and while i did like huck finn it is not the astounding book it once was. or the grapes of wrath describing the depression. that to me was not good readin. it's historical and everything but i wouldn't consider it one of the top 100 books every written.
Yeah, I don't actually think most of those books are as good as they should be BUT if I'm gonna be a teacher I guess I need to read them.
don't be silly. you only need to read the dumb ones you're gonna teach. i need to find a book critic that i agree with and read their top 100 list. i can't find one though. all the formal things always have bad books in them.
I took like two lists and combined them.
i read part of ulysseus. but only becuase it was in our english textbook. i liked it though.
I only read a few books in my time. I never read any of the assigned books I don't think. I would just talk to people about it and write my report that way.
I remember the first book I ever finished reading was Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury. Great book. That was the teacher that let us pick what ever we wanted to read and write a report on it rather then assigning us a book.
I read that..and like the other 10 books in the series. They're cool. Maybe you suck.
what the heck? You must be one of those kind of people.
The kind of people that think you suck? Maybe ^.^
no tickets for you darn girl HAHAHA I am evil :). This is where you come in and say "I don't want your tickets anyways you loser" and I retaliate with hahaha I am still way cooler than you. Ok Im just bustin your chops :)
wow! a true statement! "i am evil."
what do you want? I notice like every time I write a comment you have something to say. Like what are you getting at?
Ahh..my chops have been busted.
