Cool stuff in the Watchtower/Awake

jp by jpOG 2003 · Jun 14, 2004 · 115 views

What are some of the interesting things you've read recently in the WT or awake, other than the usual studies in the WT (although you can certainly include those as well).

I was listening to the June 22 Awake during my ride to school and it was the articles about how 4 out of 10 scientists believe in creation, despite the general belief that scientists all believe in evolution. Another cool thing is the astronmoer who measured the circumference of the earth in like the 1600's by measuring the angle of the sun at noon on the first day of summer.

Yes I thought that was interesting too, a lot of people think today's society promotes violence and killing with the movies and stuff...but back then it wasnt in the movies it was in real life!

yeah. I thought it was kind of cool the story about that battle where they wrestled into submission and the guy bent the others toe and submitted while in a choke hold that caused him to die. His dead body was claimed as victor. Neat stuff

actually one of the most interesting articles i read was about the olympic games that was featured in the current Watchtower we are studying. I thought it was kind of interesting to read about the crazy battles like wrestling and boxing and how they would use spikes in the boxing matches. Kind of makes you curious of how vicious they were back then as a reality.
