Pink Floyd: Musical Phenomenon or a Few hit Wounde

While growing up i've basically heard that Pink Floyd was the greatest and nobody can compete. I've heard that nobody can match their musical talents. Im my opinion though the only extrodinary accomplishment they has was The Wall. I mean even though its not the greatest story type cd out there (nothing can compare to The Who and Tommy) its still hard to do. Now listening the Pink Floyd's music there are a few good songs. A few to make that list would be Hey You, Comfortably Numb, and Wish You Were Here. Now there are a few songs that i absolutely cannot stand. The main song being Dark Side of the Moon. I know that everyone loves this song but i can't see why. Another problem i have with Pink Floyd is that during an interview they said that they never did any drugs while they were making their music. Of course this isn't true. All of the musicians back then did drugs and they have to fess up and say that the Drugs were the cause of their musical sucess.

so anyway whats your favorite pink floyd songs?

I absolutely love Floyd. Dark Side of the Moon has great musical and vocal solos. I think what makes a band great is that they have a very unique sound, and none of the bands in the '60's, '70's or today have a sound similar to Pink Floyd. You hear one of their songs on the radio and know it's them.

I've heard them do a bunch of interviews talking about all the drugs they used - Sid Barrett died of a drug overdose. That's no secret. It's weird that you heard them say they never did.

their music is better than the stuff thats on the radio today. practically anything is better than the music of today. in a way its that unique sound that i don't like. somethin like welcome to the machine. i can't really stand that song... i think its his voice. i dunno. i don't really like the clocks in the beginning of Time or the cash register in the beginning of money.
