The City on Film

Did anyone know about this band?

I feel like a really bad Braid fan because I didn't. It's Robert Nanna's solo acoustic project. Check out the downloadable cover of "Kiss the Bottle" on the website. It's one of my top five favorite Jawbreaker songs and he does a really cool beatnik version of it. San Fran punks would be proud.

Donovan's cousin told me Nanna just did an instore at a record shop near my house, but I had no idea about it. Now he's in the UK and will be playing there for a few weeks. Hopefully he'll play again near me so I can decide if I'll love The City on Film as much as Braid or be lukewarm about it like Hey Mercedes.

One of the best elements of Braid was Nanna's song writing - that's totally present in the MP3s he's got on the site. They're awesome.

nanna, acoustic? uh oh

CASE SHU RAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhh

i came across some really rare acoustic sessions of him playing alkaline trio, and some others, they were rough for the ears, but i think they were just jokes
