Radio Stations
I have to say, there are A LOT of things I do miss about living in New York...however one of those things is NOT the choice of radio stations. We have the BEST radio stations in York, PA. Seriously, so much better than Long Island. In LI, there were okay radio stations like, Z100 & KROCK, & Hot97...but all of them were the same, in that they basically ONLY played brandnew music.
But all of the stations here play a true mix of music. The pop stations play the new stuff, plus old stuff...the hard rock station plays good new stuff...(& stuff i've never heard on the radio) but they also play, like, guns-n-roses, & aerosmith & some ozzy. The other day on one of the hiphop stations i heard that old song by "puff daddy" don't you stop. I constantly find myself saying...OH MY GOODNESS, I REMEMBER THIS SONG! I LOVE THIS SONG! haha
My favorite stations:
105.7-The X (alternative rock)
98.5-The Peak (classic rock)
96.1-Oldies
96.9-Pop
anyways, in your part of the country...do you get good stations?
(Oh, i just have to say, i absolutely love 89.5 WSOU in NJ...I do wish i had a station like that here.)

i lie in the bubblebath alone and listen to katie o. radio, while doing hard drugs.
In the car the best station for me is WPRB stereo 103.3 FM Princeton University ( go to their website at http://www.wprb.com ). I'm usually listening to that in the car or a CD.
When I'm at a computer I either listen to my iTunes library or Virgin Radio UK 105.8 FM London ( http://www.virginradio.co.uk ) , or KCRW 88.9 FM in Santa Monica, California ( http://www.kcrw.org ) . KCRW's "Morning Becomes Eclectic" is especially good. Altho, I haven't listened recently, I also like the broadcasts of the Norwegian stations Studentradioen i Trondheim ( http://www.studentradion.no ) & Studentradion i Bergen ( http://www.student.uib.no/studentradioen ) .
how do you get that station? I rarely get it here.
What? KCRW? I don't get it over the radio unfortunately. I wish I did. I listen to it online. I absolutely love "Morning Becomes Eclectic." I have two MBE CDs. I need to get more of them.
yes, KCRW.
i wasn't even thinking of the wonders of online. lol sorry. I don't listen as often as i would like....like i said i don't get it on the radio much and while i'm at work i listen to my iTunes.
Check your iTunes presets. iTunes convienently made KCRW a radio preset. Click on "Radio" in that Source box, and then when the streams appear click the "Eclectic" category, then look for "KCRW music." Click on that, and you'll be coo.
If for some reason it wasn't a preset in your iTunes, go to http://www.kcrw.org and look for a spot that says something like listen online or something.
AWESOME!!! thanks! i sometimes listen to the radio, but i only stick with the 70/80's for the 80's tunes. lol
OO so I could listen to this too? Interesting..
Yes, indeed. I encourage it.
aww i miss 105.7 the x and that one dj who would hang up on all the callers requesting songs and stuff.
since i'm basically the only west coaster, you guys would have NO idea what my stations are.
BUT i luv 106.7 KROQ (been a fan since they started in the 80's)
91.1 (SD station-like KROQ but down south)
93.5 K-DAY old skool music
92.3 oldies/hip-hop & R&B
You're not the only west-coaster :)
97.3 KLLC - They play mostly alternative rock
105.3 KITS - Same here
106.1 KMEL - Hip hop, R&B
107.7 KSAN - Classic rock.

krock plays way more classic rock than new rock now.
i NEVER listen to the radio, i always have a cd in....
so what are you doing writing in my forum. GET OUT!
because im a thread derailer baby....
Me too. I only listen to classical radio when my road rage makes my skin turn green and I need to calm down.
what i am listening to has a direct effect on how much road rage i have. i will find more things to get mad at if i'm listening to angry music. haha
