actually now that i look at it...it was a pretty weak year for music. out of my favorite artists, only no use, beck and kanye came out with stuff. i guess thats nothing to complain about. but i grew to love bands like mae and copeland (who i should add to the honorable mention list with "Don't Slow Down" and "You Have My Attention"). 2006 should be nice. new saves the day! yeaaaaah.
also jack's mannequin...this is an incredible record which I shall put as maybe my favorite of the year, or right behind Kanye...I heard a song around june-ish, forgot about it, heard about them numerous times, and gave it another chance in december, and it's amazing. Everything In Transit might be one of my top ten of all time, it will definately be if I stay loving it for another few months. It's almost all I listen to now.
i can't believe more people aren't embarrassed about liking STD.
I can believe it. Can't wait for the album! On the last tour, they played some new songs, they sound pretty sweet.
I'm excited about 2006- AFI and Rx Bandits are both coming out with new CDs with the spring.
don't lie---b.e.p.
breathe--anna nalick
knuckledown--ani
still listenin' to '04
Never heard of these artists.
google em dude, some of them are really nice!!!
my favs :
No Use for a Name
Alkaline Trio
Mae
they should be called:
No Use For Talent
Alkaline Homo
Gae
No Use is one of the most talented bands I've ever heard, so that's definately not true. The way they can make a song flow is incredible, and the drummer, Rory, is absolutely top notch.
None of these guys are ska anyway.
Are these ska groups? What is with people on this site and ska? I think ska is so no talent garbage it isn't funny. It has no heart to it.
you're right about some ska. as for the, um, other really good ska stuff--you're crazy.
lol how is ska no talent? it takes talent to play music no? Any type of music from country to hardcore takes talent.
CASE N POINT
PWNT
I agree. Some ska is amazing and inventive, completely unique. but you gotta find the right ska. the ska that will suit you.
-drops dead- Have you never even heard the Specials?
They can't be very good if I've never heard of them. sounds like a band that plays pubs. hahahahahahahahahaha.........
wow ... maybe he knows
Voted... MOST corny joke on eZabel.... EVER
are you serious? you've never heard of the specials??
Nope. No joke.
...
The Specials are ska.
WHOA! i have had Ghost Town stuck in my head for days.
you forgot FAYDSMFB
my little list of fave songs from 2005
1) The Mars Volta - L'via [trancendental music]
2) Nine Inch Nails - Only [so angry. so snide. so awesome]
3) Queens of the Stone Age - Broken Box [unusual qotsa song. addicting though. this was a hard pick]
4) Kanye West - We Can Make It Better AKA "Late" [soooo hard to decide what song to pick. the album has blown me away. i love the sampling on this song tho]
5) Bright Eyes - First Day Of My Life [super hard pick. Lua is the most amazing song on that album to me, but i relate to this song more. it's deeply good]
6) Fiona Apple - Extraordinary Machine [my sister turned me on to this one]
7) White Stripes - Instinct Blues [i am a big jack white fan. he can do no wrong]
8) My Chemical Romance - I'm Not Ok [i tried to hate this band, but i just couldn't. i definitely dig a few songs by these guys]
9) Death From Above 1979 - Black History Month [good neo/retro insanity]
10) Mike Jones - Still Tippin [greasy southern rap. i love it. the samples are awesome]
this was really hard for me. i think in terms of albums of the year, not songs. but it was kinda fun to choose.
man, i really wanna see mars volta live so bad. im going to ticketmaster right ..........................now.!!!!
and now im back. ghey. doesnt it always seem like everyone you wanna see is playing across the country? but i did find some tokyo rose in poughkeepsie, ny. kinda far. the ticket is less than what it would cost in gas.
Wow, I remember seeing them in firehouses in NJ before they were so big. Ticketmaster sucks.
whoaaa, i woulda loved to seem them up close like that.
hmm the bonus kanye track huh? whatd you get the japanese version? or download em like me? :) I liked the other one with common, he has a nice verse on it.
nah, i got it at walmart. funny.
oh seriously? youre fortunate. i got mine at walmart too and didn't get those two bonuses. i got "late" as a bonus track, its ok but i liked We Can Make It Better more than Late.
yeah, walmart. weird. didja try playing it on a computer? the tracks might show up.
Yeah, first thing I did was put it on itunes. Thats pretty cool you got those tracks though.
"Late?" is that the song with the loop sample, "i'll be late for thaaaattttt." i'm starting to think that song is labeled "We Can Make It Better" on my disc, because i don't have a track called "Late" on my CD at all.
How many tracks on your KW:LR album?
yeah thats the one. 21 tracks.
we figured it out
i guess so. well anyway, if you want to hear them, there are two more songs that were only released in japan. when i can get on the ftp ill upload them.
