Fall Out Boy
Does anyone else besides me find Fall Out Boy extremely annoying? first of all, their lyrics make no sense whatsoever, and if they do, they sing about the dumbest stuff, like how they have good fashion sense. This type of music really bothers me, and it bothers me even more when i see some punk 13 year old kid on the street dressed like a moron, wearing a fall out boy t shirt, and he has never heard of social distortion, or other great bands. Anyway, these are my thoughts on fall out boy. please post your thoughts on this issue...unless you disagree with me, in which case i could care less about your crappy oppinion.
other bands i hate:
blink 182, the all american rejects, simple plan, senses fail, and coheed and cambria.

sooo Pete Wentz is on the cover of some magazine or something and when I saw it i literally got angry
like just thinking about it, I feel ANGER and RAGE inside
haha
i really need to meet him and punch him
someone was telling me today about how great their new song is and i just looked at her and was like, "how do you feel about the fact that he kisses men?" and all she could say was not posititve. but i like the song.
i don't even care that he kisses men, he's just so annoying and overly satisfied with himself
Last night I had this dream that we saw pete at the grocery store, and then we went and hung out in the back of his escalade (don't know if he drives one in real life) and he was hitting on my wife (liam thinks he's hot) and then his girlfriend came and was all pissy, and then we all hung out in the back of his escalade and he almost kissed liam. random dream.
wow. i'd be so, so, so angry after that dream.
This band freaking rules!
YES!!! hahaha. you all fell for it. i revitalized the music board!! :)
personally, i like fallout boy. i don't care what they do in their personal life, no musicians are exactly honor-worthy. and i'm not listening to their lyrics to gain some great insight on life, it's simply catchy and fun to listen to. i hate when people try to "convert" you from liking a band, like people can't have their own opinion. so annoying.
look, the sooner you realize we're doing it for your own good, the sooner you'll hate the bands you love-- c'monnnn.
there has been many bands you all have mentioned on here, that are not exactly lyrical geniuses but you still like em...SO LEAVE US ALONE! haha
okay, so i just realized i'm being slightly hypacritical, because as i have mentioned before...i hate fergie and don't understand why people like her...but i do think it's different, because at least these bands..(fall out boy) actually play instruments and sing...she SPEAKS in every song.
haha, you are all so hypocritical and contradictary it's not even funny. i always say this, but the apple jacks rule reigns-- we eat what we like.
i only said i personally do not like fall out boy. i don't care if other people listen to them, i just think those people are stupid.
uh oh.. it's gonna get crazy in here again hahaha
i personally do not like this band at all but.. i really don't care if anyone else does ... it's fine with me...
saying one kind of music or one band "sucks" is like telling someone that what they prefer in their coffee is wrong - and that is just a waste of time
let's all get along
so lets bring this up after a few months...in celebration of the new fall out boy album
i always had their first 2 albums, but i could never really listen the whole way through. there were bright spots, but not the whole thing. ive changed my mind...both of the albums are a lot of fun, most of the songs are. i know im gonna take some heat for this, but i dont care. whats wrong with them? theyre a good time.
hmmm, what's wrong with fall out boy? good question. well for starters they suck. and they make out with other guys; this really comes across in their music, because it tends to be really gay.
also their lyrics are pointless, whiny, phony, pretentious, pointless, and whiny...and dumb.
aaaand, the people that listen to them (on the whole) are very annoying. they attract this whole crowd of 12 year old emo kids who wear really tight clothes, paint their finger nails black, don't bathe, and who are as ugly as the bottom of a shoe.
it really bugs me that bands like fall out boy make a lot of money. i guess, though, once you make enough money you can pay people to think you're good (like how paris hillton; because she's rich, tricks people into thinking she's pretty).
Good summation. Bad lyrics and badly composed music = a bad band.
i would venture to say that the main reason you guys or anyone else doesnt like them is because of the reason that the 12 year old kids like them, and you dont want to be associated with that type of person. but guess what? thats what happens when youre appealing, when you are on the radio. a lot of the music on the radio isnt that good, so maybe thats not saying much, but thats not most peoples opinion. theres a reason that millions of people buy albums of bands, whether you like them or not.
the truth is they are musically superior to most pop punk bands out there, in terms of making catchy songs and making them sound good. at least they sound like that on the album. granted, ive never seen them live, so i cant say anything for them as far as that goes. and i know you guys wont agree with this...but their lyrics are pretty much run of the mill for the genre...so if you like the lyrics from ANY band of the pop-punk/emopunk/etc genre (excluding several outstanding lyricists - brand new, say anything, saves the day, etc) then youre not getting anything worse listening to fall out boy. so if you dont like any of those bands, then fine. but i know a lot of you guys like bands like taking back sunday, etc...aside from their first album when they had john nolan, then how are their lyrics any better than fall out boy's?
look...fall out boy just doesn't do it for me. in other words, i hate them. i guess what i am saying is, that i don't like them...at all. let me put it this way...in my opinion, they are not good. you might say they are not my type of band. i guess the point i am driving at here is that, the so called..."music"...they make, is not "appealing" to me. if they were a type of donut at dunkin donuts, and i had to buy a dozen donuts, i wouldn't buy one of them. i don't like them, their image, the things they promote by the way they dress, and act. i don't like the guys voice. it makes my ear drums bleed. the music "insists upon its self" (peter griffin). their songs are all over produced. if they all slit their wrists and died tomorrow, i wouldn't really feel all that bad. i want to kick them...in the head...with an iron boot. is that a good reason?
All this anger towards fall out boy only leads to one explanation...hmm.... yep I see now it's soooo obvious, your just jealous.
am i gonna have to spank you again? is that what you want? another whuppin'?
Well I don't like the "pop-punk" sound at all, so the music they make will never sound good to me, regardless of whether they can play it well live or not. It is overly produced in the sense that the sound is not creative. I do like bands that interesting and produced, like The Life and Times, for example. Their music isn't like what's all over the radio, and that's what I want to listen to. Think about older musicians too, like Peter Frampton hooking up a modulator to his throat and guitar to produce an amazing sound. Creativity is what I'm looking for, and Fallout Boy does not have it.
As far as lyric, why would you not demand a band with good lyrics all the time? I don't read books that are poorly written, I don't want to listen to music that's poorly written. I've said before that the Ataris are a band who write catchy music, but whose lyrics occasionally suck. I still have their albums because they're fun to listen to when you're in a fun mood, or at parties; and a few songs on each of their albums are well-written. But they're probably the only band in that "fun" genre that I can stomach for half and hour straight.
we're going DEOWWWN DEOWWWWN in an earlier REEOOWWWNNNDDD!!
you angry lil man! LOL
im all about classic punk as that was my scene growing up and am somewhat disturbed by some of these little bands that call themselves punk or these "local" bands that think they're punk. punk will never be the same as it was back in the day. i just rely on my good ol boys like bad religion, social d, the vandals, TSOL on making new new records to keep that classic style alive.
but in this bands defense, they're super fun and look like they're having fun doing their shows...ANNNNNND they're making millions...and what're we doing sitting behind computers comlaining how lame they are. lol
you know what? i am angry! i'm angry that i have to listen to their stupid music every day at the gym, along with fergie, beyonce, clay aikan, and akon. it's torture!
wait?!?! you dont like akon and beyonce? bwwhat? they're fabulous.
wait?!?! you dont like akon and beyonce? bwwhat? they're fabulous. akon made domestic violence a cool thing. how could you not love him?
i dont like akon either...theres only one song i like but other than that he's too whiney
stop being cheap then and invest in an iPod.
i hate hate hate fergie and her stupid music. i hate akon slightly less, but still hate him.
so...who loves fall out boy?
MEEEEEEEEEEEE
I'm locking this thread. I think we've all expressed our opinions enough. :)

I think this thread should die so i will shutup.
I will now begin start posting pictures of my butt.... NO one will come back in here..
Please don't....Noooooooooo.......My eyes......
OK this isn't dying.. go with something artsy... when we say 'no, is that, NO that's a BUTT!
hahaha people are still talking about this.. wow
btw, way to go alex, your first forum and it goes nuts
this is by far the most interesting, humorous forum i've read in a while. thank you for starting a controversy. haha
look at this. not bad. i keep trying to get this music forum going, but it rarely works. i guess the key is to pick on mike.
one time out in service we saw this girl (12 or so) and she was wearing a Fall Out Boy t-shirt and this one sister (she's about 45, has 3 teenage kids) goes "oh i love your t-shirt! I love Fall Out Boy"
::crickets::
the girl looked at her like she was really weird
more ::crickets::
it was pretty funny
and then this one other sister who is like 70, was like "Fall.. out... boy??.. what kind of.. what.. what kind of name is that?"
p.s. I also hate that band
the fall out boy bassist needs to be put to death.
im not a huge fall out boy fan, i dont listen that much but dont mind them. kids will get over the craze, then people will stop yelling that they sold out blah blah blah. people love to hate on the bands that become popular. a year ago, fall out boy would be the cool scene band to like, and all american rejects would be just another emo band. in 1998, blink was the cool scene band to like. once enema came out, people heard whats my age again on the radio and everyone cried sell out and then it became cool for music "purists" to hate. basically now, if you're not 15 and a teenage girl its not cool to like fall out boy. but it doesnt really matter, there will be another band like this to come along soon, and then in a few years, people who liked fall out boy from the beginning will band together and be the cool retro thing because nobody cares about bashing them because there is a new band that "sold out."
incidentally, i think the song about having good fashion sense theyre kind of making fun of the "scene" kids who like to dress like them and try to be like them. which is even funnier. props to a band that can make fun of their fanbase and then have even more fans.
senses fail and simple plan are pretty bad. coheed are really good musicians, im just not a huge fan of theirs, i dont listen much. rejects i have no problem with.
BLINK!!!! they are awesome. true, i didnt like enema of the state at first, when people cried sellout and whatnot. (mike, you may remember how i complained.) and i love it now.
blink 182 will always be a defining band of my teenage life, and i will forever love them for that. they were the band of my life at 15-16. and i continue to love listening to them. and i would not be surprised if travis was voted best drummer, he is incredibly skilled. and while blink isnt as technically advanced, their ability to create addictive and catchy fun pop punk is a skill in itself.
CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG???
*I love everyone...HUGS!!!!*
:) :) :) :)
you have to know everybody in real-life to realize how much love is actually there, hiding under the playful jabs.
I'm hoping so....I know the 'main core peeps' well enough to realize that.....I was just worried I was gonna have to make housecalls to give everyone group hugs or something. Hahahaha.
Hahaha - no, we all know each other well enough to push each other's buttons. It's brother-sister fighting.
actually i wouldnt call it a fight... it was over before it started. You cant beat me... Nobody can beat me. I am all knowing and nothing you can say can ever change that. So therefore... we didnt fight, WTC just babbled for a while and i placated her by replying so she wouldnt start to cry.
Woah, "Placated". Did you get out your thesaurus so you could talk like a big boy?
I will ALWAYS ALWAYS be bigger then you, you little oompa loompa...
Oh, I have added to the madness!!!!!! What have I DONE!!!!?????!!!!
It's all kinda funny....keep going.
Awww, the big boy quoted from a little boy movie!!! Aren't you cute!!!
ya know, you sound LESS pathetic if you just say, mike you are right, i am wrong, and i am short... please forgive me for even speaking in the first place.
But I DO SO want your approval, Mike!
well it is only natural....
Dude, whenever I want to win, I just make my brother cry. (j/k)
GO!!! :)
love. lasers. daggers.
Umm sorry.. I forgot to tell everyone I invented music. I can play every note, chord, tune, melody, sound that a guitar, drum, bass guitar, all the wind instruments (but not the violin.. because violins are for stupid asians..) can make. Matter of fact I invented the guitar..Actually I even invented the strings... so I can say that all music stinks poo
lol, stupid azns
you invented rice. and rice paddies. and final fantasy.
final fantasy 1 on the NES... ROCKS
i invented it.
too bad i never played any other finaly fantasys...
are they any good..
maybe i should start or something
GO GO FF
hahah people arguing music.. hahaha
YES YES argue music
Guys the color blue is soooo much better than red
People wear red in the shirts and they dont even knwo what color is..
I mean.. Where did they get the dye for their shirt?
they don't even know HOW DYE is made.
HAHAHAH NEWBS
COLOR IS FOR NEWBS
AHHHHHHHH LONG LIFE BLUE I LOVE BLUE
said so beautifully
you are so beautiful
You're hands, they're... so soft, and blue
blue hands suck
i hate you
mike, i love ya buddy. it cracks me up that you've had this same argument like 400 times-only with different people. you defend your stance to the death.
I will never lose... i will fight all of you naked and in the rain about my music...
LOL i do not doubt that my friend. you love nothing more than an excuse to get nekid.
yes... yes i do... i vow to make the US my big naked playground.
there is something very disturbing about you naked and playground in the same sentence...
Punk Rock is garbage and signals what is wrong with today's music genre....
I read this really interesting article about a punk band from chicago, talking about how the warped tour single-handedly killed punk music, or at least all it stood for
the warped tour is awful. bands can't deny it because it generates sales. i'll admit i went seven years, consecutive. 97-2003. it just got way too crowded and way too corporate. and the kids. more and more evil and inconsiderate every year. i'm too old for that scene.
agreed, i enjoyed it because you get to see a lot of bands, and you get to discover a lot of bands on the smaller stages. Now it is a total corporate event, sponsors everywhere.
The argument in the article i read, said because all the bands tour on this one tour, there is not a smaller show every night throughout the summer. less local shows = less opportunities for local bands to get exposer and grow.
i weighed in and all, but this post is like testicular electrocution. i dunno, it's just gotta stop, lol
i pretty much agree with the puffy haired kid. althought i'll say mike is right about two things. travis barker is one of the best drummers i've ever heard and coheed and cambria are technically amazing. the bands as a whole don't rock tho. blink? garbage. coheed? self indulgent out the whazoo. who cares about your gay unintelligable sci-fi comic book!? anyway, i used to pick music fights on here. it's completely futile. everyone is going to listen to what they want. mike likes crappy music. are we gonna tar and feather him? i wish. but no. live and let live.
oh come on guys... everybody has their opinions and yes, most of the time the music they play at my gym makes me want to kill myself but this is the stupidest argument
this isn't anargument, everyone is agreeing with me.
you want good workout music...slip in the Rocky IV soundtrack...
Your promotion of '80's music frightens me. Live in the now!
HAHAHA!
I'm frightened that the majority here like Punk music. Even the ones in their mid to late 20's. Take a look at how the worldly people who like these bands look and then tell me nothing is wrong with that music.
Who cares how other people dress?
music does not equal lifestyle. and not all music is bad because of a label. nuff said.
True, but the lyrics by alot of these groups are disgusting.
See, you can't really say that. Some punk bands are bad, some are not. Just like rap. You can't say that because some rappers have lyrics involving rape and murder that rappers like Shaggy and Busta Rhyme are the same - they're obviously not.
Punk, Rap, Hip Hop, etc...All are atrocities formed from the true identity of Rock and Roll. They are crap...
That's your opinion, and I'll die for your right to make outrageous claims.
rock and roll muscians are notorious for their lifestyles.
and lyrics-"Come on baby light my fire"? What a bunch of sickos (haha)
Yeah but if I went to a U2 show for example, I'd be much safer from harm than going to a Punk show.
How many punk shows have you been to?
Mosh pits explain it all. I went to one or two with some people. The music was horrible, if that is what you call it.
Well, again, that's your opinion.
I don't consider screaming lyrics and just banging away at the instruments as music.
Neither do I. You're generalizing too much. It's like talking to my grandfather.
i agree with web-toed, you're generalizing way too much, i don't know who you went to see, but they probably weren't very good, or maybe you just weren't listening. the musicians in thrice or strung out can play their instruments way better than buddy holly or johnny cash ever could have hoped to. (ps. i'm not discrediting the importance of the influence buddy holly or johnny cash had on music, just trying to make a point)
I've only listened to a few of these so-called "Punk" bands in my lifetime. I couldn't even tell you their names, that's how little I cared. But....I felt like I was with a bunch of Satan worshippers. I watched some guys bodyslamming each other or moshing, whatever you call it, and I thought it was absolutely ridiculous. The way some of the people dressed was outrageous, etc... I did not feel it was a good environment to be around and I certainly would never let my 2 kids ever go to something like that. So maybe I have an older persons perspective since I have children, but saying Punk is a good genre of music is the same as saying some gangster rap is good. It's my opinion, but I feel it's a good one to stick by. So I'll stick with it.
I think we should just stop talking about this; we don't debate with people in the ministry, we shouldn't debate like this among ourselves. Just do what your conscience allows and don't worry about everyone else.
I think this is fun. Thanks Alex for the contriversial thread...hahahaha....
You are right though. Lets all kiss and make up. :o)
so who knows what you were even listening to? according to what you are saying it may or may not have even been punk. you obviously don't know anything about the genre so I just can't take anything else you are saying seriously. i can understand somebody saying "i don't like the music but to each his own" but come on, to pull the "that music is the work of the devil and is evil" card is just retarded, especially because you don't even know the names of the 2 so called "punk" bands you listened to once.
I merely said that's how I felt when in that environment. If you wouldn't feel that way then fine. It was Punk music. I know the sound. I won't pretend I'm an expert on this genre of music, because I'm not. I personally feel it's not a good form of music. Knock yourself out if you like it. Let's not pretend though that I'm the only one in the organization with this viewpoint. I know plenty of others with the same one, I'm just being blunt about it. In the end it's something that is between yourself and Jehovah...Ok so how about them Mets...LOL!
yeah i get it, i'm just saying there's a million different bands of course a lot of them are gonna be bad. I like rock too just like you do but I don't say
"all rock is bad because KISS or Kid Rock or Marilyn Manson are bad and I don't want to be associated with that"
hey kids will start a mosh pit no matter what kind of music it is....LOL
not really....cause i can go to a social d show or bad religion show and feel jsut as comfortable as i do when i go to a U2 show.
Good point. Mike Ness always tells people at his Social D shows to be a family, and they really are. People always bring their kids. It's all about the band you go to see.
whoa this forum went nuts!!
ok so.... "alot of these groups" ...
i take it that you haven't actually listened to many of them. as with ANY type of music you need to be selective. the label "punk music" really doesn't mean much anymore, we could be talking about strung out or we could be talking about simple plan. Its the same with rock music. I mean, we could be talking about pearl jam or the beatles or yanni. you can't just condemn an entire genre. well you can, but it makes you sound stupid
SO TRUE!! just cause i like a good old school punk band doesnt mean i have that life style nor do i look like them.
there's no getting through to you people...
That's cuz you're like Mike.
So I'm a genius. Thank you...
Wow. Mike's married, dude.
I'm his mentor...He learned to be dashing and charismatic from me. LOL!
your comments are infuriating, and are completely not based on reality. besides, how old are you? and who the heck cares if people want to dye their hair pink & wear ripped clothing? if that is what you think the music is promoting...good for them, who cares? it's not like their talking about harming people.
Oh and the NOW as you put it is worse off than the THEN. So I'll take the lesser of two evils.
Ok, so you like Rush AND miss a Wayne's World quote.... hmmmm
I don't think I ever watched Wayne's World all the way through, so what's your point? Rush destroys any punk group by far. I own all their albums. I am a true fan.
If you like em, good for you.
Well I was subjected to John Hughes' collection of punk every Wed night on the way to play basketball. I wanted to shoot myself...
Again, good for you
for about a year i listened to pop punk. i recently gave away all my cds. the music is fun at a show to bop around to, but singing along to those lyrics made me feel dumb. the musicians may have technical skill (as opposed to let's say me...who doesn't play any instruments), but their shallow, less than intelligent lyrics don't speak to me at all.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! LOL im not into the pop punk bands. altho i've seen fall out boy in concert i can say they are pretty good but not for me.
i must admit i do like all american rejects but my niece is into them so its our "bonding" band (im the cool aunt-lol)
but i grew up in a time where punk was punk, real and raw. so i like the old school punk/suicidal.
Ok, point for point... i disagree.
1. You picked ONE song of FOB to comment on lyrics... have you heard any of the earlier cds? Do you even KNOW they had more then one song that you heard on the radio?
2. Punk 13 yr old kids on the street? Anybody can wear whatever they want, if you dont like what they are wearing, why do you wear the same thing? Did you ask them what bands they know of? I have a Fall Out Boy t as well, and ive seen more shows then you ever will.
3. Blink 182, Senses Fail, and Coheed. All amazing musicans, ALL very talented, and i believe that Rolling Stone voted Travis from Blink as BEST drummer of all time recently...
To sum up... to have an opinion about music, you have to know something about it, which from your VERY slim and narrow view... accounts to more or less.... nothing.
Thanks for trying though... come back to me when you have a few years of shows under your belt and some real music knowlege instead of listening some radio station and nitpicking.
^^ troublestarter right here, folks
i think that the first time i've heard the term troublestarter, i always thought it was troublemaker
1. Mike, you are NOT allowed to judge lyrics. Good lyrics are poetry, and when was the last time you read a poem? Case closed - you're not the judge.
2. It IS annoying that little kids on corners think they know what "punk" means because they listen to blink and wear torn clothing. The whole idea of being "punk", originally, in London in the 70's, was to rebel against the conformity of that culture. If all the idiot kids dress alike, even "punk", they're not rebelling against anything. It would be more of a statement to wear polo shirts.
3. Rolling stone is not critical of music. They may review what's hot right now, but they'll never admit that today's bands are more talented and innovative then, say, the beatles or led zeppelin.
Further, I think we can both agree that Katie and I have been to WAY MORE shows than you, so don't preach to Alex. You don't have to defend the music you like, it's ok to like stupid songs sometimes. Just don't try to defend it and say it's "punk" when it's clearly not different from every other band on the radio. If you take away the lead singer's voice, can you tell one of the bands Alex listed from another? I can't, and that's why they suck.
Today's music is garbage. There's some good stuff here and there, but music is not what it once was.
indeed
haha here's one of the lyrics mike used to rock out to:
"this is the story of a girl, who cried a river and drowned the whole world, and though she looked so good in photographs I absolutely want to kill myselffffffff"
HAHAHA
lol matt was too lazy too look up the lyrics to that 9 Days song, lol
1. hahah, first of all, you have no idea what poetry i have and havent read, case opened, the book thrown at you and THEN reclosed.
2. I am not here to tell people what IS an ISNT punk, nor do i care, all im saying is this is what i like, and you can like what you like.
3. Um... Rolling Stone is one of the biggest music magazines out there with alot of information of what is going on in the music scene. And yes they do, try picking up a Rolling Stone and reading it instead of reading whatever emo poetry, or VS catalogs that you read.
And no, katie hasnt gone to any shows in like the last 2 or 3 years... and unless youve been going out to some CRAZY amount of shows in Hicksville PA.. .i doubt you have either. I have been to more shows in the past 3 years then i ever did when we would do the local shows back in the day.
emo poetry and VS catalogs! HAHAHAHA!
1. Ok, what was the last poem you read?
2. You are saying the bands you like are "punk"; you're trying to defend what you listen to to the rest of us, but I gotta tell you - no one cares what you listen to!
3. I subscribed to RS for like 5 years. They roll with the tide, as does every other music critic. Even though music for the last few years has sucked, do they stop giving out grammys? No. All I'm saying is that it's not better than Social D and Black Flag. The majority of music today is not inventive, and the bands cited above are at the top of the "non-Innovative" list.
Are you really trying to make up for the fact that your mommy wouldn't let you stay out past 11 and go to shows when you were a teenager? The scene Katie and I were into is completely dead, and no shows you go to now, or in the past 3 years could ever compare.
mike = PWN'T
Show me where I defend anything that I listen to is or ISNT punk....
lol... dude... you are talking about going to LOCAL shows in the scene 4 years ago, im talking about going to big shows at Irving... whats the last show YOU went to?
and you can argue this till ur blue in the face, but I still go to shows, and you dont, so I dont really care what you say about music. Im out seeing shows and you are home cooking food and talking about mortgages...
Dude, you're 23 and trying to hang on to being 17. I go to shows by bands I like, that are new and interesting. I saw Channels a few months ago in Philly. You'll go to any show you hear of because you're "allowed to" now. My point is that most bands now suck, so it doesn't matter how many recent shows you've been to.
whats better, me enjoying my age or you acting like you're 50?
I go to the shows I want to go to...
This is what im saying, you dont even KNOW of any of the bands NOW, you watch some tv and think you know something about the scene... sitting at home knitting and watching MTV2 doesnt give you the right to pretend like you know what you are talking about.
Hahaha ur such a loser! I don't feel the need to make up for my "lost youth", because I had a youth, and it was awesome. Now I'm happily married and I love the bands I listen to. You're just obsessed with not acting your age. What's up with that?
lol ok when did we change from music to critiqing my life.
First of all, its none of your business HOW i act. I can wear diapers and call people pooppyheads and you STILL have no right to say anything to me about it. I act the way I want to act. Period. End of story
Just because you feel like the way YOU act is mature or the way people should act doesnt mean jack to me. I dont care if im nothing like anyone else you know, because its me, and i like it.
If you cant handle me cracking jokes about how lame you all are, or trying to french kiss your chocolate fountain, thats fine by me. But atleast im not trying to fit myself into some lame "mature" mold that you are trying to do. I do my thing, and i do it well.
I do my thing too. And obviously YOU can't handle any kind of statements about your life. I still have a chocolate fountain and you don't!
lol yeah... your thing is the SAME thing as everyone ELSES thing... its cool, really... when i wanna kill myself.
i only used ur chocolate fountain for one night... and now im done with it... it was a one night stand for me, it meant nothing. I moved on... i bet it still craves me tho...
Are you going to shows alone? Is anyone else there? Obviously you're the one who's doing what the masses are, not me.
And my chocolate fountain has moved on. It doesn't want your dirty lips anymore.
so the fact that alot of people go to the same shows as me means.... what?
well your fountain got alot more then my lips... believe me.
**you do fight dirty, you are lucky that i am nice and hold back alot cause we are on a website read by people who dont know you....**
Is that some sort of threat?
OH SNAP I THINK IT IS!
you can take it however you want. I mean i could really threaten you and just sit on you, but i wont because... um... hmm well i cant come up with a good reason why NOT to sit on you... maybe to shut you up.
Well, what if I have taco bell then sit on you!?
good luck eating it before i steal it from you...
So it's a taco eating contest now, huh? Just name the place and the nearest bathroom.
lol besides being grossed out... im game, lol
and again, when in ur LIFE have you ever won anything when it was against me?
honestly.
Not being a loser. I've won at that.
*snicker*
No more wasabi on a spoon, Mike?
Yeah Mike needs to add to that 252 pounds of hunkness....
punk isn't punk just because a record label or music store puts the band or cd in a punk section/category. none of us can really define which bands are or aren't punk (it's all opinion), but this was dictionary.com's definition: rock music with deliberately offensive lyrics expressing anger and social alienation; in part a reaction against progressive rock. the bands alex mentioned don't have that attitude overall.
also a big show doesn't neccessarily mean it's a good show. the bands playing at irving aren't really the "scene" bands. for the ny scene: try going to knitting factory, southpaw, or townhall. and if punk really had a scene would it still be punk?? i think that would totally negate the definition of pure punk.
I concur. Take the Sex Pistols? They hated music labels so much they "swindled" two of them and then only made one record, expressing their distaste. That's the true definition of punk.
Sorry buddy, but Neil Peart from Rush is a better drummer than anyone still living. He's been going at it for 30+ years. Go listen to one of his drum solos and you'll agree.
he has a one million piece kit and he hits everyone single piece, every song, on average once every two seconds. i'm like what what what what!?
have you ever seen kiss's drum set? just cause you have a zillion piece set doesn't mean you know how to use it
i know. i was kiddin'. and that's correct Kiss' drummer is teh grabbage.
Oh he knows how to use it. He's amazing.
meh
he's saying Neil Peart knows how to use his drums
Thanks for that clarification, Nearl Peart - yes, Peter Criss - no
ohhh. yesss, he doesss. i knew that. *falls off chair*
Good answer, but you have to admit that travis is a pretty good drummer himself
But Neil is THE best.
Using rolling stone as a reference pretty much negates this debate.
How do you make a lot of money? You write garbage for the majority.
I think that Pete guy is pretty hot.
All those bands really annoy me too. It's beer and lifestyle music.
