emusic members?

jp by jpOG 2003 · Jun 26, 2006 · 117 views

anyone a member of emusic? i just joined. im a music addict, with finding out new bands, and its perfect for finding stuff thats hard to find otherwise. while id like to get more than 40/$10 or 90/$20, it's much better than shelling out 13 bucks a cd. i didnt wanna join, but then i figure its better to pay 22 cents a song than a dollar.

so far, ive been able to find the weakerthans, pulley, the appleseed cast, and anathallo there. im enjoying it.

emusic is really getting cheap and driving me mad. when i first joined it was unlimited downloads, than after a company bought them out, they introduce different download plans & the basic plan was a 40 track limit per month for what used to be unlimited at that same price. Now, as of Nov 21st, the basic plan will be knocked down to a 30 download limit per month. Lock in a better plan now, before the 21st, if you don't wanna get stuck with the 30 track limit if you're a current member. I locked in the 65 track limit last night. I passed on the 90 tracks since I know I'll still be getting physical CDs from time to time as well. I'm really at mad emusic for this kind of limit change again, altho not mad enough to cancel the subscription because they have a great selection for me to discover new music.

They won't let you see if they have bands before you join?

no, you can see. click on "about emusic" on the bottom of the page then you can search music.

Yeah, I just saw that. Sorry!

They have the dismemberment plan, which I want, but they don't have strung out. What's up with that? I'd rather download strung out and buy the dis plan because I know strung out is on a larger label which I don't feel the need to support as much as the plan's label. Rant. I need to go home for the day.

well you can just download dismemberment plan on your free trial and then cancel :)

Hahaha - no, they're a smaller band, so I want to actually buy the CD to support them and their label. I just hate that I have to order the CD and wait for it to come, then rip it to my mp3 player... I'm too lazy now that I've been downloading everything.

Well, emusic is legit. It's not torrented. Money does go to the label and band from downloads. It's just like buying it at the store.

Hmmm...

I do miss buying physical CDs. Nothing like jewel case with killer art to hold and look at and read inserts. Yes, you can put your own together, but it's not the same. But, I only can afford mp3s now.

i know. it bugs me to pay for music i dont get the actual cd for. but it beats spending a ton on cds.

I've been an emusic member ever since 2003. I've already offered to the folks here to sign up for it through me. Too late!

emusic does have a lot of good inventory that I like. Wish it was still like back in 2003 tho, when I was getting unlimited d/l's for 10 dollars a month. Now there's a 40 song limit. I'm still a member tho.

jp #2.1 jpOG 2003

aww man, they should let you stay on that plan if you signed up for unlimited. that stinks

theremin #2.1.1 thereminOG 2002

Exactly. I'm pret-ty bitter about that. I think what happen was, a company bought them out. Thus, the stupid restraints followed. On a good note.. the inventory grew tons.
