Kingdom Melodies
Titanic Soundtrack

Surprising.

originalsnob #10 originalsnobOG 2004

Can you change this to If you're on a desert island and you can only take ONE PERSON WHO would it be? ;)

jp #10.1 jpOG 2003

Definitely R&B singer Shaggy.

theremin #10.2 thereminOG 2002

I'd have to make sure I got married first

fivezero #10.3 fivezeroOG 2003

Thee guy from Man vs. Wild.

socalgal #10.3.1 socalgalOG 2003

OMG isnt that guy amazing? I LOVE watching him....in case i get lost in alaska or something or an african jungle.

theremin #10.3.2 thereminOG 2002

I miss watching that. Is the show available anywhere online? I don't have television. I've been relying on Hulu & Joost since I moved, so my "tv" consists of The Office, House, & 30 Rock.

fivezero #10.3.2.1 fivezeroOG 2003

everything exists everywhere online.

theremin #9 thereminOG 2002

I think a good, acceptable way to cheat this is to bring complilation CDs.

I also think that my original list would be too depressing for being stranded on a desert island.

These aren't comps (well, one is a greatest hits) but another 3, more upbeat selection for me would be

Forever Delayed (The Greatest Hits) by Manic Street Preachers (not necessarily upbeat lyrical content...still, it is Rock & Roll. And, this album has a lot of tracks to keep you occupied with.. which would be important on a deserted island)

Love Kraft (the songs are so catchy, without being "pop music") by Super Furry Animals

So Much for the City by The Thrills (I sometimes think of them as the Irish Beach Boys...especially this particular album. Really good & catchy Guitar based Pop Rock)

But, I would still have to bring the Badly Drawn Boy - The Hour of Bewilderbeast along, and a Pogues album (I think also a Dubliners album)

My favorite 3 (and most listened to) all time, not necessarily my current favorites. PS, this was really hard and I'm probably missing some:

NUFAN - More Betterness
Strung Out - Exile in Oblivion
Beastie Boys - Hello Nasty

Close on the list:

My Chemical Romance - Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge
Jimmy Eat World - Bleed American
Brand New - The Devil and God Rage Inside Me
RATM - self titled

wow, my list would be almost identical to this. i might have to put sum 41's "does this look infected" album on there. also, maybe through being cool" by saves the day and "louder now" by taking back sunday. but there are soooo many albums i looove sooo much. it's hard to make this list!

oooh and "good mourning" by alkaline trio and "process of belief" by bad religion.

forget it. i like too many albums.

superhero #8.1.1 superheroOG 2004

i do like "Does this look infected?" although my mom flipped when she found the cd case in my car around ... 2002?

superhero #8.2 superheroOG 2004

Matt ... i mean this whole heartedly and in the nicest way possible - I could not get into that Brand New album. I listened to it a few times, and really tried to like it, but couldn't. What is it about that album?

thefunkyfresh #8.2.1 thefunkyfreshFounder

it's definitely not like their other albums, it might seem... i dunno, slow, at first, but once you get into it, it's great. he just sings with so much emotion, i love it. it's just very unique, to me anyway, and it's cool coming from a band with punk roots.

jp #8.3 jpOG 2003

Brand New is probably between 9 and 11 on my all time comprehensive list (that does not actually exist) - but it's Deja Entendu. That album is gold.

flomojopoanode #8.4 flomojopoanodeFounder

my list would be close to this, too. I might substitute beastie boys with Face to Face's self titled album or My Chemical Romance's Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge.

I also would add process of belief or stranger than fiction by bad religion on my ALMOST top 3 list, and maybe even a Lagwagon album like Hoss.

thefunkyfresh #8.4.1 thefunkyfreshFounder

yeah f2f self titled is AWESOME and process of belief is way up there for me too

socalgal #7 socalgalOG 2003

U2 - Joshua Tree
Ramones - End of the Century
Social D - Mommy's Little Monster

socalgal #7.1 socalgalOG 2003

i have to add more

mothers milk - RHCP
ten - pearl jam
legend - bob marly
the queen is dead - the smiths
101 - depeche mode

UGH there are WAY too many to have a top 3

B
#6 brothermanOG 2004

U2 - The Joshua Tree
Rush - Counterparts
Coldplay - Viva La Vida

theremin #5 thereminOG 2002

Wellll hellllo there "internet-only eZabel friends"
Goodafternooooon? How are you today? Good? That's good! I'm good too! I'm also sensitive! So watch out boy! Yeh man!
Hey guys...Wanna hang out in reallife? Cool! Let's do it! Yeh man! Awesome Coolness!

ok ok...time to get serious haha

The 3 albums that I'd have on a desert island:

The Hour of Bewilderbeast by Badly Drawn Boy (Damon Gough)
--------this album is sooooo underrated

uhm....I'd actually like to take more Badly Drawn Boy, but I'll try to be diverse with this top 3 selection

O by Damien Rice

Now the 3rd pick is the hardest 'cause it's the last & for me it'd probably be a toss up between Amnesiac (Radiohead), Hot Shots II (The Beta Band), Mi & L'au (Mi & L'au), Ruby Vroom (Soul Coughing), TNT (Tortoise), or an album by Dungen.

And so many greats that escapes my mind at the moment.

But, I'd probably settle on

Amnesiac by Radiohead

theremin #5.1 thereminOG 2002

And you can count on me hiding something by The Pogues under a Panama Jack Island Explorer or Gambler hat to sneak in.

Gambler?

or

Island Explorer?

makes

look better?

#5.2 brothermanOG 2004

Did you forget to take your Riddelin?

superhero #5.2.1 superheroOG 2004

where's your list, REO Speedwagon?

theremin #5.2.2 thereminOG 2002

hahahha I'm convinced you & Alex are the same person with MPD (which would explain the fighting that often happens between you "two")

Dude...peace & love, yeh? Peace & love

Never realized posting open invitations to do things would stir up so much negativity between Christian brothers. Now I know the level of immaturity that that we're really dealing with here.

Why do you hate me so much? We don't even know each other.

I'm willing to be the one calling a truce. Coo?

Truce man, truce.

B
#5.2.2.1 brothermanOG 2004

Dude, I was kidding. Don't take stuff so literally.

theremin thereminOG 2002

Ah yeh. I could say the same to you.

I am however serious about treating each other kindly. (If you're not for that...why not just ignore me?)

Why are you so against that tho?

I don't like having enemies.

I can take jokes, but it does get old and exhausting after awhile.

It does get tiring, that every post I ever do gets bashed...even when done in a jokingly manner.

I can hardly take you seriously...'cause you say you're joking all the time.. but still bruv... c'mon already.

B
brothermanOG 2004

Alex picks on me all the time, even in person. Man up buddy boy!

This site is boring nowadays. Picking on you is the only entertainment left. LOL!

theremin thereminOG 2002

Not about not being a man. Just gets really old and boring. I've also made the effort to be friends with you... the ball's in your court now. I don't see why you'd wanna put the wasted effort into the replies you make to anything I say, but won't accept my friendship. You've completely ignored my invitation to be friends and have to instead say something again, like "man up." Let's just have a handshake, please. You have no idea about my "sensitivity" level and do not know my ability to take jokes and do not know my mannerisms and do not know my tones. You do not know me. I am trying to give you the benefit of the doubt as hard as that is with my own personality flaws (we alllllllll have them) and be friends with you.

Ps. 133:1
Rom 12:10
Heb 13:1

Handshake?

(That is my last post on this subject...especially since this forum is meant for Music in the first place, so I apologize)

superhero superheroOG 2004

fine with me, I can't figure out why Fleetwood Mac is always hassling you

B
brothermanOG 2004

First of all Alex mocked you in the musings and says a lot harsher things. Cmon buddy. We're all friends here.

iwz iwz

all you needed to say was "sounds good", or "/shakes hands"

no need to redirect.

Oh... now you step in. ;oP

#5.2.2.2 alexOG 2001

why dont you just stop being such a whiny little bitch?

jp #4 jpOG 2003

1. Jack's Mannequin - Everything In Transit
2. Beastie Boys - Paul's Boutique
3. Blink 182 - Dude Ranch
4. No Use For A Name - More Betterness!
5. Saves The Day - Through Being Cool
6. Taking Back Sunday - Tell All Your Friends
7. Something Corporate - Leaving Through The Window
8. Less Than Jake - Hello Rockview
9. Jimmy Eat World - Bleed American
10. The Ataris - Blue Skies, Broken Hearts, Next 12 Exits

That's a tentative top 10. The only definite is #1. That's my favorite album ever.

fivezero #3 fivezeroOG 2003

My list is wrong and will change daily. For nowwww:

Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie & The Infinite Sadness.
Radiohead - Ok Computer
Nine Inch Nails - Pretty Hate Machine

Another 3:

The Mars Volta - Amputechture
Queens of the Stone Age - Self Titled
The Strokes - Is This It?

iwz #2 iwz

Radiohead's OK Computer
Bjork's Debut
Jimmy Eat World's Clarity

but I would also sneak in The Anniversary's Designing a Nervous Breakdown

superhero #1 superheroOG 2004

Mine are as follows:

1. Travis - The Boy with No Name - this is a wonderfully relaxing album. Almost every song is meaningful and deep. I think my wife may be tired of me listening to this but I don't care.
2. Matchbox Twenty - More Than You Think You Are - I listen to this over and over and am always amazed. It reflects the Rolling Stones, but songs like "Downfall" and "So Sad So Lonely" should have the kind of recognition and staying power that "You Can't Always Get What You Want" and "Under My Thumb" have had.
3. Jack's Mannequin - Everything in Transit - After having this album for 3 years, I still regularly listen to it and hang on every word. The new album, although very good, is not as good as the old one.

I have bonus ones too
4. Something Corporate - Leaving Through the Window
5. Jack Johnson - In Between Dreams
