FABfourFANS
I just realized that there isn't a specific thread for The Beatles. I remember listening to The Beatles in the station wagon as a kid. My Mom was a John Lennon fan. I didn't really get into them until the Anthology came out on TV. (Yeah, I watched every single one-I am waiting to get the whole set on DVD). I realized that there was a whole lot more than "She Loves You." I went out and bought Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Whoa. After that, I had every single album. I read several books on their rise to superstardom. I even watched all their movies. I know all kinds of bizarre trivia. I have action figures, books magnets and magazines.
Anyhow, this thread is for those who want to chat about their favorite songs, favorite beatle, favorite album...whatever. enjoy. (include any beatles trivia you have).

*The Beatles continue to exert their influence on popular music, sometimes in surprising ways. Punk, for instance, began as a total rejection of traditional rock (bassist Glen Matlock was supposedly ousted from The Sex Pistols for admitting he liked The Beatles), but it's been drifting back toward a pop sensibility. Recent albums from punk acts such as Good Charlotte, Simple Plan and Dashboard Confessional all boast melodic lines and sweet harmonies, hallmarks of The Beatles' early work. "I can't tell you how much their music means to me," says Christopher Conley, 23, singer-guitarist for the emo- punk band Saves the Day, whose recent albums have won praise for their increasingly sophisticated songs. Conley says he was listening mainly to hardcore punk until about three years ago, when he happened upon an album of Beatles hits. "I just couldn't believe it," he says. "Once I had learned their chords, and I had the ear for it, I figured out I could do so much more."*
perfect article. when i try to explain this concept to some ppl, they try to talk me down. a lot of musicians have been influenced by the beatles. directly and indirectly.
yea, alot of people have been influenced by them. more then might admit. they were the best. ever!
I love the Beatles and they were a good influence on music. Sex Pistols, yeah they're punk..they shouldn't even be mentioned in the same article as Dashboard Confessional and GC.
yeah i was a little upset about that too.
I had Beatle wallpaper on one wall of my room, right next to my bed. It was four different pics of them and thier autographs over and over and over and over and over an over and.....
whoa beatle wallpaper. i'd decorate the spare bedroom of my apt with that...if my landlord would let me, and if i had an apt.
haha...i wish i had a roll of that paper, I bet it would sell for a bunch of money.
It took me a while to catch on to the title of this thread.
I thought it was going to be about "Queer Eye for the Straight guy", I was hoping there wouldn't be any fans on here
they call themselves the fab five. i've never watched an episode of that trash. i wouldn't be able to get through an entire show, their voices are over-the-top ghey.
octopus's garden. love it. another favorite brit band of mine, oasis, throws a short cover of it at the end of their song Whatever.
ahhh if only dave elliot was here to see this...he'd be crying in his oatmeal.
trivia - penny lane was written on a bus that paul was on. if you drive the same speed as the bus paul was on, while listening to the song, you pass everything just as he says it...barbershop, etc.
I haven't ever come across that lil bit of trivia. I even looked at my book that explains the story behind every song they wrote-hmmm. It said that John wanted to refer to Penny Lane in the song "In My Life." I wouldn't doubt that it would work, I bet its a good selling point for tourists. I have to go there someday.
Who is Dave Elliot and why is he crying in his oatmeal?
he's delliot101 on here. he's the biggest beatles fan EVER. no really, ever.
i do have more beatles trivia to share, i will at some point
