cable/phone
I guess now that I will have some extra money monthly I'm going to break down and buy a tv and a house line. A friend built a comp for me so I will be able to have internet, too. First off, what's your cable provider? Cablevision\Optimum Online for sure?
You have two basic choices:
1) io Digital TV ($39.90/month) + Optimum Online Internet ($29/month first 6 months) +
Vonage for phone service ($25/month)
Total: $95/month (after 6 months will go up ~$20)
2) Optimum Online Triple Play: TV ($29/month) + Internet ($29/month) + Voice ($29/month)
Total: $87/month for the first year. But after that, all three will go up (I don't know how much).
In the long run, choice 1 is better. Two of the prices are pretty much fixed (TV and Voice). If you choose option 2, who knows what Cablevision will charge after the first year.
I wish Cablevision had a "Double Play" for TV + Internet.
i might be able to get IO through work cos i think we have a license to sell it still
dude, i have Optiumum, and unless she gets all 3, she's lookin at a $20 jump on the cable once the 6 months is over.
