Vonage (broadband phone service)

iwz by iwz · Sep 11, 2003 · 72 views

Anybody using a Voice-over-IP broadband telephone service such as Vonage? ( www.vonage.com ) I'm still really interested in this, but I'm not sure how good the quality is and stuff. Could be a really good deal tho.

Any experiences?

i did some beta testing for gemini voice solutions. they sell their equipment to cable companies. anyway, the hardware is pretty basic...it's the software that counts. i helped them identify a few gliches based on some of the calls i made. the calls were clear, quick connection, no worries. i like the aspect of getting voice mail and other features that verizon charges extra for. i also have some friends who got one of these units. we haven't discussed it, per se, but then i haven't heard any complaints either.

i wish i could make calls from my comp at home using my cable modem to people's cell phones and stuff. it would be free. and i'd be mad productive.
