windows media player

thefunkyfresh by thefunkyfreshFounder · Sep 19, 2003 · 71 views

how do i make sure my windows media player is updated? I'm trying to use espn motion on espn.com but all i get is sound and no video. I have this problem for a lot of video files.
Also, how can I make it so XP downloads updates in the background? Before my hard drive crashed it seemed like I was getting update installations every other day. Since i put in my new hard drive I've only had it like twice (since i first ran windows update).

i believe espn motion also needs flash.
and: ESPN Motion requires the latest Windows Media 9 Series Codec

Go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and make sure you have the latest Windows Media Player. Latest version is 9.

To get Automatic Updates, go into your System control panel (WindowsKey + Pause key) and check out the Automatic Updates tab. Check the checkbox, and set the radio button to download automatically or install them automatically.
