Interesting. I have Xp and my computer has been doing this every once and a while for a long time. Should I get this patch?
next time it happens, try to see if it mentions anything about the LSA or LSASSER buffer is overun. Something like that. If so, get this patch now. But, this virus was only released on April 15th, so if you have had it longer than that, it's possible that you have a different problem(or both?).
Why not just get the patch anyway just in case and so it doesn't happen?
Because you can still get the virus, even if you use the patch first. But if you get the virus, THEN use the patch, you won't get the virus again (it's weird, I never heard of anything like that before, but that's what I read).

Actually from talking to a friend of mine about this yesterday this patch prevents you from getting the virus.
It doesn't get rid of the virus though just prevents you from getting it. It plugs up the whole that it can get in through. It's a real pain to get rid of from what I'm told.
i have windows98 and my computer does that sometimes, only when i'm using my webcam or microphone tho.
